2025 Fantasy Outlook
Sweat was a key cog in Philadelphia's pass rush the past six seasons, averaging 7.7 sacks (and 9.7 tackles for loss) per 17 games during that span. He was especially disruptive in Super Bowl LIX, when he accounted for 2.5 of the Eagles' six sacks of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in a 40-22 victory. Sweat cashed in this offseason with a four-year, $76.4 million contract with the Cardinals, who likely will pair him with Zaven Collins as the team's top edge rushers. Read Past Outlooks

December 26, 2025
Sweat (ankle/knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
ANALYSIS
Sweat was held out of practice all week due to ankle and knee injuries, but the Cardinals are still giving the veteran pass rusher a chance to play Week 17. His status may not be officially known until the Cardinals announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If Sweat doesn't play, then Dante Stills and Jordan Burch would be in line for more snaps on the defensive line.

After jumping up to a career-high 11.0 sacks in 2022, Sweat fell back to 6.5 last season, which is in line with his totals from 2020 (6.0) and 2021 (7.5). The drop in production is disappointing considering that it came as Sweat saw a big jump in his snap share, going from 56 to 71 percent of defensive plays. He also had a slight decrease in tackles, going from 48 to 43. Sweat should remain an important part of the Eagles' pass rush this season, but his drop in output could lead to a return to the smaller role he had for most of his career.
Sweat started 16 games and finished third on the Eagles defensive line in total defensive snaps (587) last season, resulting in career highs across the board. Sweat's 48 tackles, 11 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss all represented personal bests, while he also intercepted a pass for the first time, running it back for a score. The 2018 fourth-round pick has developed nicely over his five seasons in Philadelphia but will have to keep performing to maintain his snap count on a deep defensive line which gets Derek Barnett back from his ACL surgery.
Sweat, a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft, was part of the Eagles' defensive end rotation in his first three years in the league, but he stepped into a more important role last season. After Brandon Graham tore his Achilles early in the year, Sweat went on to start 13 games, setting career highs in tackles (45) and sacks (7.5), the latter of which tied for the team lead. Graham is back with the Eagles this season, but he's also 34 years old and coming off a major injury, so Sweat should see plenty of snaps.
In his third year, Sweat had his best campaign yet as a pro, registering 38 tackles and six sacks. Dubbed one of the Eagles' breakout defensive stars of training camp, he could be poised for an even better 2021.
Scouts widely hail the 6-5, 250-pound Sweat as a freakish athlete. He was the No. 1 high school recruit in the nation when he suffered a horrific knee injury that put not only his career in danger, but also future ownership of his leg. Due to league-wide concerns about the knee, the Eagles were able to snag him as a fourth-round draft pick. He'll be able develop under the tutelage of Fletcher Cox, Michael Bennett, Chris Long and company without the pressure of having to contribute right away. However, the rookie succeeds at getting after the quarterback, a major emphasis of defensive coordinator Jim Scwartz's system, so he could very well find himself with regular snaps. The 21-year-old has more than enough talent to pry his way into Philadelphia's rotation at end.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Irked by Pro Bowl snub
LBArizona Cardinals
December 24, 2025
Sweat told reporters Wednesday that he was frustrated by his omission from the NFC's Pro Bowl roster despite matching a career high with 11.0 sacks through 15 regular-season games, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sweat also leads the league with four forced fumbles, but despite being the second-leading vote getter in the NFC among outside linebackers, he will be the only player in the conference with double-digit sacks to not earn a spot on the Pro Bowl roster. Instead, it was Brian Burns, Byron Young and Jared Verse who were all selected as the NFC's outside linebackers for the Pro Bowl. Sweat is currently nursing an ankle injury that puts him in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game against the Bengals, but the 2018 fourth-rounder has an opportunity to prove his detractors wrong over the final two games of the regular season.
