2025 Fantasy Outlook
Joining his third team in as many seasons, Deguara is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he hauled in all three targets for 14 yards and no TDs while playing the majority of his snaps on special teams in 15 games for the Jaguars. The Cardinals aren't shy about using 12 personnel, with 2024 third-rounder Tip Reiman and Elijah Higgins earning at least a 38 percent snap share behind No. 1 TE Trey McBride's 89.3 last year. Nevertheless, Deguara has a hill to climb for a regular role. Read Past Outlooks
Signed to Cardinals' active roster
The Cardinals signed Deguara from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Deguara's addition to the active roster gives the Cardinals depth at tight end after Travis Vokolek (neck) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. With Vokolek and Tip Reiman (ankle) both on IR, Deguara is slated to serve as Arizona's third-string tight end behind Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins. Deguara played in the Cardinals' Week 2 win against the Panthers, when he logged one tackle while playing 14 snaps on special teams.

Deguara never lived up to his pedigree as a 2020 third-round pick for the Packers, and he'll continue his career with the Jaguars in 2024. The 27-year-old had minor involvement in the passing game during the 2023 season with eight catches for 65 yards, and that's unlikely to change this season with Evan Engram entrenched as Jacksonville's starting tight end. Deguara will be competing with Brenton Strange and Luke Farrell for backup slotting.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Headed for No. 1 tight end duties?
Deguara currently sits atop the Packers tight end depth chart with Robert Tonyan having agreed to a one-year deal with the Bears on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Tonyan is now officially out of Deguara's path to the top job, while 18-year veteran Marcedes Lewis isn't expected back. That leaves Deguara at the top of the depth chart at this point in the offseason, although there could naturally be competition brought in via the draft or free agency. A 2020 third-round pick who recorded 77 receptions for 972 yards and 12 touchdowns over his last two college seasons at Cincinnati, Deguara appeared to be on the way to similar production with Green Bay when he generated a 25-245-2 line over 16 games in 2021. However, the 26-year-old took a step back last season, posting 13 grabs for 114 yards across 17 games while logging only 15 targets overall.
