Nwangwu is in a battle with Edwards and Isaiah Davis (ankle) for the RB3 job behind Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, and Nwangwu's last opportunity to make his case for the Jets' 53-man roster is Friday against the Eagles.

Nwangwu was primarily used on special teams last season, playing just 18 offensive snaps (11 touches). He used his 4.32 speed to churn out 920 yards and a TD on 35 kickoff returns. It's possible he's called on to use his speed in the offense more often this season following the release of Dalvin Cook. Alexander Mattison is the new starter, but Nwangwu could carve out a backup role. He'll compete with Ty Chandler, a 2022 fifth-round pick, and DeWayne McBride, a 2023 seventh-round pick. More likely, Nwangwu will be limited to kick-return duty once again.
