Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hill’s fighting an uphill battle to be ready for the start of the 2025 season after undergoing surgery in December to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. He’ll also be 35 years old by the time the season starts, and the Saints could be reluctant to keep the jack-of-all-trades on their books at an $18 million cap hit. It’s possible that Hill won’t play another down in the NFL given the circumstances, but if he recovers and reclaims a role similar to the one he played pre-injury, Hill could be a nice fantasy asset in formats that grant him tight end eligibility. He had 278 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in eight games last season while adding 23 catches for 187 yards on 31 targets. Most of Hill’s production came as a rusher in a wildcat QB role, as he has averaged six rushing TDs over the past five seasons. He also has 11 receiving TDs and 11 passing TDs in his career. Plays nine snaps in 2025 debut
Hill logged six carries for minus-1 yard and completed his lone passing attempt for 19 yards during Sunday's 26-14 victory versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hill figured back into his role as a rushing quarterback and Swiss Army knife on offense during his first game back since suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 of the 2024 season. While he played only nine offensive snaps, the 35-year-old was featured nearly every time he got on the field, including multiple looks in short-yardage and third-down situations. Hill played at least 40 percent of offensive snaps in six of the eight regular-season games that he played last year, and he averaged 7.8 touches for 58.2 yards per contest in 2024. As he continues to ramp up his playing time, he should carry some value as a boom-or-bust option as a TE2 or FLEX play in most fantasy leagues, especially non-PPR formats. It will be worth monitoring how much, or if, his playing time increases during New Orleans' Week 6 matchup versus New England.

How often does Taysom Hill run a route when on the field for a pass play?
This data will let you see how Taysom Hill and the other tight ends for the Saints are being used. Some tight ends may have a lot of snaps, but they're not that useful for fantasy purposes because they're not actually running routes. This data will help you see when this is the case.

How does the Patriots pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. Hill's versatile skill set makes him an enticing fantasy asset, especially since he's eligible at the relatively thin tight end position in the majority of formats. He sees occasional playing time at tight end and on special teams, but most of Hill's fantasy production comes from under center as a wildcat quarterback. Hill has averaged 6.0 rushing touchdowns, as well as 451.8 rushing yards per year, over the last four seasons. He caught six TDs back in 2019, when Hill played predominantly wide receiver, but his career high in receiving yards actually came last season, when he had 291. Hill's days as a starting quarterback option appear to be behind him, but he does have 11 touchdown passes in his career and threw one last season. The Saints hired Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator in February, but while the coaching change could lead to some changes in Hill's usage, Hill's athleticism should earn him a significant role once again in his age-34 season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Reunion with Payton in Denver?
If the Saints were to release Hill, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News believes the Broncos and head coach Sean Payton would be interested in the veteran tight end's services for 2025.
ANALYSIS
Hill ended the 2024 season on injured reserve after tearing the ACL in his left knee in Week 13. With an $18 million cap hit for the 2025 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relayed Tuesday that it would be "hard to imagine" Hill returning to New Orleans next season. A reunion with Payton -- who was the Saints' head coach for 15 seasons -- in Denver could be in the books for Hill if he is let go by New Orleans and opts to return for another year. Hill would give the Broncos a utility man on offense to fit alongside Courtland Sutton and Bo Nix.
