GOALIE
Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. COL ($7,800): With 11 games on tap, Tuukka Rask ($8,000) and Jimmy Howard ($7,600) are also potential value picks. Hellebuyck looked good recently, making 26 saves in a 5-1 win against Dallas on Sunday. The Avs are a bit scary but not so much on the road, especially when the Jets are 14-6-2 at home and the Avs have three wins in their past 10.
CENTER
Brandon Pirri, VGK vs. NYR ($5,900): Pirri's second tour with the Knights this season will be interesting. Called up last because Reilly Smith and William Carrier are injured, Pirri filled in for Max Pacioretty last time, but with a spot potentially open on the top line, will coach Gerard Gallant play Pirri there? With nine points in seven games, Pirri can play a top-six role, but don't rule out a third-line spot, either. However, at this price and his rate of production, he can provide value.
Brayden Schenn, STL vs. DAL ($4,300): Last season was an anomaly because a 50-60-point pace is more realistic of what Schenn is capable of. However, at this price Schenn is palatable, and there's added motivation knowing that he might be trade bait. The Stars are talented but don't defend particularly well and consistency is a problem. Schenn scored four points in five games last season.
WING
Nikita Kucherov, TB vs. CLS ($7,900): Throwing the 5-2 loss and minus-4 performance against the Sharks out the window, Kucherov was on an absolute tear. He's scored 34 points going back to Dec. 1 and rocketed toward the top of the scoring race. The Jackets are vulnerable with Sergei Bobrovsky having a subpar season and just one stud defenseman in Seth Jones. That's just not enough to contain a brilliant Lightning offense.
Jake Guentzel, PIT vs. FLA ($6,400): He's scored four points in his past three games, giving him 38 points in 42 games this season. Playing with Sidney Crosby obviously helps, but Guentzel is also getting more ice time, and his shooting percentage is elite at 17 percent. Expected starter Roberto Luongo has a .885 save percentage on the road and Guentzel is scoring over a point-per-game pace at home.
Max Pacioretty, VGK vs. NYR ($5,300): The Knights should be heavily favored in this matchup playing at home and against an already mediocre Rangers team that's struggling. Since returning from injury, Pacioretty has scored two goals on 12 shots in two games, and even though both have missed time, his chemistry with Paul Stastny has remained intact.
DEFENSE
Erik Karlsson, SJ vs. EDM ($5,800): Karlsson had a hand in all three goals in a 3-1 win against the Kings and has finally settled in. Despite a career-low shooting percentage, Karlsson has 38 points in 42 games. The Oilers' struggles are well-documented, and it's also a team Karlsson has traditionally dominated with 15 points in 15 career games. At $500 less than Brent Burns and $400 cheaper than Kris Letang, Karlsson's a great choice Tuesday.
Filip Hronek, DET vs. MON ($3,600): The pool of defensemen is deep, but Hronek is intriguing because he offers a high-risk, high-reward proposition. He scored 18 points in 20 games with AHL Grand Rapids before getting called up and has seven points in 18 NHL contests — including three in the last two.
