Monday is the last day of April, and there are two NHL playoff games to mark the occasion. Here are some recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.
GOALIE
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TAM vs. BOS ($8,400): Though Vasilevskiy struggled in Game 1, he still has a 2.51 GAA and .922 save percentage in the playoffs. This comes after the Russian had a 2.62 GAA and .920 save percentage in 65 games this year. The Bruins scored 2.93 goals per game on the road this year, which is good, but not as productive as the other three teams in action.
CENTER
Logan Couture, SAN vs. VGK ($6,700): Couture has been impressive to start this series with two goals and 13 shots. The veteran center had a fine regular season as well, tallying 34 goals on 204 shots in 78 games. Though Marc-Andre Fleury has been excellent during the playoffs, the Golden Knights had a 3.00 road GAA this season.
Erik Haula, VGK at SAN ($5,800): Haula didn't do much in Vegas' sweep of the Kings, but he has three points in this series. There were no struggles during the regular season, though, as he had 29 goals in 76 games, including 12 on the power play. Martin Jones had a middling .915 save percentage this season, and he's got a 4.42 GAA and .810 save percentage in this series. Sure, that's only two games, but in his last 12 starts he has a .906 save percentage.
WING
Jonathan Marchessault, VGK at SAN ($6,700): Marchessault has averaged 15.4 fantasy points per game, which is third highest among wingers Monday. In the playoffs he's tallied five points and 25 shots on net in six games. Despite all those shots, he only has one goal, meaning he has a 4.0 shooting percentage in the postseason. As previously noted, Martin Jones has a .906 save percentage in his last 12 starts.
Jake DeBrusk, BOS at TAM ($4,700): DeBrusk started 70.0 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Bruins. He has a five-game point streak and has tallied a point in every playoff game save for one. Even if Vasilevskiy is my goalie recommendation, there's still potential for DeBrusk to get on the score sheet.
Kevin Labanc, SAN vs. VGK ($3,600): Labanc started 55.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest for San Jose. He has three points in the playoffs, all on the power play. That's not surprising, given that he's averaged a whopping 4:53 per game with the extra man. If he keeps getting that much power-play time, that increases his fantasy potential. At this price, he's an intriguing option.
DEFENSEMEN
Victor Hedman, TAM vs. BOS ($5,800): Hedman may only have one point in the playoffs, but he's still been active. The Swedish defenseman has averaged 26:06 per game in ice time, including 4:14 on the power play. Plus, he's notched 17 shots on net in six contests. Oh, and let's not forget his 17 goals on 216 shots and 46 assists during the regular season. He's been reliable in his career, so don't let a cold spell discourage you too much.
Colin Miller, VGK at SAN ($4,200): Miller started 61.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Golden Knights. While his production dropped off toward the end of the regular season, he has a point in each game of this series. With the way this series has gone for Martin Jones, perhaps Miller can make that three games in a row with a point.
