It's a three-day weekend in the U.S., so why not kick it off with some hockey? There are nine NHL games Saturday night. Here are some players to consider for your daily fantasy lineups.
GOALIE
Tuukka Rask, BOS vs. NYR ($9,000): While Jaroslav Halak is cooling off after a hot start, Rask is staying steady in goal. The Finnish netminder has a 2.42 GAA and .920 save percentage. He should have an easy day against Boston's Original Six foe, as the Rangers have only managed 28.2 shots on net per game.
CENTER
Sean Couturier, PHI at MON ($6,500): Couturier has looked like the guy who had a breakout campaign last season recently. He has a five-game point streak in which he has tallied nine points total. The Canadiens are also playing their second game of a back-to-back, and Antti Niemi (3.63 GAA, .897 save percentage) likely will be in net.
Calle Jarnkrok, NAS vs. FLA ($3,600):Ryan Johansen is suspended and Kyle Turris is injured, which leaves Jarnkrok to center Nashville's top line between Viktor Arvidsson and Roman Josi. That greatly increases his fantasy potential, and he also has five points in his last eight games. The Panthers have a 3.88 road GAA and are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.
WING
David Perron, STL vs. OTT ($5,500): You may not be aware, but Perron has a 13-game point streak. Saturday he plays a Senators team on the road for the second game of a back-to-back. That's the same Senators team that ranks last in GAA and shots on net per contest.
Ondrej Palat, TAM vs. SAN ($5,100): Palat has started 61.6 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Lightning. He also skates on Tampa's top line alongside Steven Stamkos, and he has a point in five of his last seven games. As for the Sharks, they've really struggled on the road, posting a 3.58 GAA.
Jason Zucker, MIN vs. CLM ($4,500): Zucker scored 33 goals last season, and while he only has 13 this year, he's put 130 shots on goal in 46 games. The Blue Jackets are another team on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and they also have a .902 save percentage. That bodes well for Zucker and the Wild.
DEFENSE
Torey Krug, BOS vs. NYR ($6,100): Krug is tearing it up offensively yet again. He has 32 points in 37 games, including 19 with the extra man. The Rangers have struggled mightily on the road. They have a 4.17 GAA, second highest in the NHL, and have allowed 35.9 shots on net per game.
Mattias Ekholm, NAS vs. FLA ($5,500): Ekholm already has a career-high 36 points, even though he's only played in 48 games. That's because he has 30 assists already, including 11 in his last 11 contests. As noted, the Panthers, who have a 3.88 road GAA, are playing their second game in as many nights.
