If hockey is your thing, Tuesday is the day for you. There are 12 games on the NHL slate. That means a lot of hockey to watch, and a lot of options for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are my recommendations.
GOALIE
Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. NYR ($8,500): Hellebuyck has seen his numbers drop a bit, but his .912 save percentage is about average with the offensive uptick this season. Plus, over his last 12 games he has a .920 save percentage. As for the Rangers, they've scored 2.73 goals per game and managed 28.4 shots on net per contest.
CENTER
Pierre-Luc Dubois, CLM vs. WAS ($6,100): Dubois has 21 goals and 49 points this season after having 20 goals and 28 points last year. The difference is last season's numbers were in 82 games, and this year he's only played in 54. Washington is on the second leg of a back-to-back, and it has a 3.56 GAA on the road as well.
David Krejci, BOS vs. CHI ($5,000): Krejci has three points in his last five games, giving him 43 points in 51 contests. Though the Blackhawks have been doing better recently, that's been largely offensively. They have a 3.82 GAA on the road and have given up 34.0 shots on net per contest in those games.
WING
Nino Niederreiter, CAR at OTT ($6,100): Since joining the Hurricanes, Niederreiter has been skating on the top line, and he's started 64.4 of his shifts in the offensive zone. That's second on the team. It's paid off, as he has nine points in 10 games with the Canes. Now he gets to face a Senators team that has a league-high 3.65 GAA.
Kyle Connor, WPG vs. NYR ($5,700): Connor has scored 22 goals on 163 shots in 56 games during his sophomore campaign. He doesn't have a goal in his last five contests, but he has 14 shots in those games, so he's stayed active. It's easy to imagine the 22-year-old light the lamp in this one, though. The Rangers have a 4.04 road GAA, second highest in the NHL.
Jason Zucker, MIN vs. PHI ($4,900): What about Niederreiter's old team? Well, Zucker isn't going to score 31 goals again, but he has 14 goals in 55 games, and he's notched 10 points with the extra man. Despite the presence of Carter Hart, the Flyers still have a 3.29 team GAA and the 28th-ranked penalty kill. That's worth noting heading into this matchup, as Philadelphia played Monday night, and Hart got the start. He likely won't be in net for this one.
DEFENSE
Miro Heiskanen, DAL at FLA ($4,700): After falling off offensively for a bit, the impressive rookie defenseman has returned to his former glory. He has a three-game point streak, and he's notched five points in his last five contests. Meanwhile, down in Florida, the Panthers have a 3.43 GAA. That's third highest in the NHL.
Colton Parayko, STL vs. NJD ($4,400): Parayko put 212 shots on net last year, and he's tallied 129 shots in 54 games this year. Thanks to an uptick in his shooting percentage, he has nine goals already this season. The Devils have given up 33.2 shots on net per game on the road, and they have a 3.78 GAA in away contests as well.
