This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.
It's an odd daily fantasy slate with the one Sunday game being combined with 13 Monday contests to make it a two-day event. The first puck will drop Sunday at 8:00 ET while the last one drops over 24 hours later at 9:00 ET on Monday. Here are some players to help guide you in the mega-slate:
GOALIE
Petr Mrazek, CAR vs. PHI ($29): Mrazek has been strong lately with a .926 save percentage and 2.05 GAA over the last four outings, but he's still one of the cheaper options on the docket. He also draws a favorable matchup, as the Flyers have been held to three or less goals in seven of their last eight games, and they sport the league's worst power play at 12.8 percent.
GOALIE TO AVOID
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK at ARI ($39): It's hard to bet against a future Hall of Famer, but there's a glaring problem with Fleury's stat line: he plays poorly on the road. In 17 road outings, Fleury has posted an .890 save percentage and 3.06 GAA compared to marks of .925 and 2.16 at home. He's the highest-priced goalie in this slate and isn't worth that level of risk.
CENTER
Kevin Hayes, NYR at STL ($18): Hayes carries a whopping nine-game point streak – five goals, 11 assists – into this New Years Eve matchup, needing just one more point to match his output from the first 28 games. The Blues continue to be inconsistent and a liability no matter who's in net, so Hayes should glide to his 10th straight game finding the score sheet.
CENTER TO AVOID
Max Domi, MON at DAL ($23): Domi's price tag has crept up since he was uncontrollably lighting the lamp to begin the season. However, he's cooled off and hasn't potted a goal in nine consecutive games. He's also not shooting the puck or blocking enough shots to make up ground, so he should be kept out of lineups until he finds his scoring knack again.
WINGS
Alex Galchenyuk, ARI vs. VGK ($15): Galchenyuk is starting to look more comfortable with his new team, as he now has four points over the last three games and is punching in major power-play minutes. Part of his success lately has come from his willingness to shoot, compiling 10 shots on goal during that span. Start him with confidence.
David Perron, STL vs. NYR ($18): Perron was made a healthy scratch earlier this month and it's clearly put him back on track. In eight games since, he's piled up five goals and three assists while firing 16 shots on net. It's never easy to sneak one past Henrik Lundqvist, but Perron is hot enough at this price to take a chance.
WINGS TO AVOID
Reilly Smith, VGK at ARI ($19): Smith has played well in December with nine points in 13 games, but he still leans too hard on the power play for his price. 12 of Smith's 26 points have come with the man advantage, and that could lead to tough sledding versus the Coyotes' top-ranked penalty kill.
Zach Parise, MIN vs. PIT ($23): Parise has three points over the last two games, so it's odd that he makes this list. However, he fired 10 shots on goal in one of those outings, and that pace simply won't continue. Pittsburgh's goaltending has been more than respectable lately, so Parise will have difficulty continuing the trend.
DEFENSEMEN
Jakob Chychrun, ARI vs. VGK ($16): Chychrun struggled when he returned from ACL surgery, posting three points in 15 games. However, he's starting to heat up again with two goals and two assists over the last five games. His knack for shooting and blocking shots adds a solid floor as well, and he comes in at a value.
Nate Schmidt, VGK at ARI ($21): Schmidt has racked up a goal and six assists while firing 16 shots on net over the last five games. That streaky resume puts him above the other defensemen in this slate, and he comes in at a modest price.
DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID
John Klingberg, DAL vs. MON ($22): Scoring on the Stars' blueline has been passed off to Miro Heiskanen, as Klingberg still skates on the top pairing but starts a majority of his shifts in the defensive zone. That has affected his offense, as he has just one assist in the last five games and doesn't shoot enough to change that trend anytime soon.
Shea Theodore, VGK at ARI ($13): Theodore ranks as the Golden Knights' highest-scoring defensemen, but he's stuck in a rut with just one point over the last eight games. His power-play minutes will be of little solace against a suffocating penalty kill, so it's best to leave the relatively pricey blueliner on the shelf in this outing.
