Quickly erased by Oezdemir
Light HeavyweightUFC
November 23, 2025
Menifield lost to Volkan Oezdemir via KO (knee and punches) at 1:27 of Round 1 at UFC Qatar on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Typically a kill-or-be-killed fighter, Menifield had actually won two consecutive fights via decision leading up to Saturday's bout. He got a step up in competition against Oezdemir, and while his aggression paid off early with a big left hand, Oezdemir weathered the storm and eventually found a home for a big knee. Moments later, Menifield was getting finished along the fence. Menifield is essentially roster depth in a shallow 205-pound division. Expect him to hover around the .500 mark moving forward.

Booked vs. Oezdemir
Light HeavyweightUFC
October 2, 2025
Menifield will take on Volkan Oezdemir in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Qatar on Nov. 22, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Menifield has won two straight and will look to make it three in a row in Qatar, which would be the longest winning streak of his UFC career -- though the fighter did have a five-fight stretch of four wins sandwiched around a draw from 2022-2023. His opponent, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Carlos Ulberg in a bout that took place almost exactly a year ago to the date Menifield and Oezdemir will do battle.
Pulls upset of Oumar Sy
Light HeavyweightUFC
June 14, 2025
Menifield defeated Oumar Sy via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Neither man was impressive this evening, but Menifield did enough to win, and he did so as a +500 underdog. Alonzo won most of the striking exchanges between the two, although the damaging blows on both sides were few and far between. Sy controlled Round 2 on the strength of his grappling, but he did Menifield a massive favorite by not wrestling in either the first or final frame, and Alonzo pulled the upset as a result. The 37-year-old Texan has won back-to-back fights to follow up a brief two-fight losing streak.
Sy fight scheduled again
Light HeavyweightUFC
March 20, 2025
Menifield is scheduled to compete against Oumar Sy in a light heavyweight fight at the UFC's June 14 event, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Menifield and Sy were scheduled to fight on March 22. That was until plans changed, with the former taking on then-newcomer Julius Walker, who lost via split decision when they fought on Feb. 22, exactly one month earlier. Menifield will look to make it back-to-back wins in June.
Snaps brief losing streak
Light HeavyweightUFC
February 22, 2025
Menifield defeated Julius Walker via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Menifield is impossible to trust as a big favorite (he was -225 here) because he has zero gas tank and no means of generating secondary offense if his power shots aren't landing. Both those things proved true again on this evening, but he still found a way to win the fight -- one that was later deemed Fight of the Night and earned both men a $50,000 bonus. He and Walker fought to identical terms of the feet. They were also both dead tired after the first five minutes. To Alonzo's credit, he dug deep and got the better of the action in Round 3 to in order to convince two of the three judges he deserved to win. Now 37 years of age, Menifield was coming off back-to-back knockout defeats and could have been handed his walking papers had he come up short here. His roster spot should now be secure for the time being.
Added to UFC Seattle Card
Light HeavyweightUFC
February 13, 2025
Menifield will take on newcomer Julius Walker in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Seattle on Feb. 22, per MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Menifield will get the pleasure of welcoming Walker to the UFC, to which the newcomer brings a perfect 6-0 pro MMA record. Menifield, meanwhile, sits at 8-5-1 in the promotion but is coming off two straight losses, most recently falling to Azmat Murzakanov back in August. He'll need to bounce back against in opponent in walker who is significantly taller (six feet tall to 6-foot-4) and has a longer reach (76 inches to 81 inches).
