Destroys Chris Daukaus
Rozenstruik defeated Chris Daukaus via KO (punch) at 0:23 of Round 1 at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Easy work. Rozenstruik lacks traditional athleticism and isn't going to win many (or any) fights if his power strikes aren't landing, but this performance is a perfect example of what can happen when they do connect. Jair blasted Daukaus with a couple big shots moments after the opening bell rang, and that was essentially all she wrote. Rozenstruik has no history of hanging with better competition and that almost certainly will not change considering he will be turning 35 years of age next March, but there's more than enough here for Jair to continue to blast fringe-roster fighters such as Daukaus. The effort would also go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

ANALYSIS
It's just the second knockout defeat of Rozenstruik's career and the first against someone other than current UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou. We have seen Jair take some beatings over the years, making the end result of this fight quite a surprise. Both men were throwing some haymakers in the early going, but Rozenstruik got clipped by a right hand and then a prolonged combination, and that was enough for referee Herb Dean to step in. It was a bit of an early stoppage, as Jair appeared to still be defending himself, but he was also clearly wobbled. Rozenstruik shocked most everyone by picking up four straight knockout wins to begin his run with the UFC, but he has predictably struggled when tasked with facing better competition. Jair is just 2-4 dating back to May 2020, and he will have zero chance of winning fights moving forward if his durability starts to become a consistent issue.

Slated for headliner in June
Rozenstruik will take on Alexander Volkov in a headliner heavyweight fight at UFC Fight Night on June 4, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rozenstruik was slated to fight Marcin Tybura this spring, but the fight was called off since Tybura dealt with an illness. Rozenstruik last fought in September and lost to Curtis Blaydes via unanimous decision at UFC 266. Volkov will also be attempting to bounce back after losing to Tom Aspinall via submission (straight armlock) at UFC London in March. Volkov has advantages in height and reach.
