Trademark performance in win
LightweightUFC
November 16, 2024
Miller defeated Damon Jackson via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:44 of Round 1 at UFC 309 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
It was Miller's 45th fight with the UFC and 27th victory, both company records. The New Jersey native was fortunate on this evening, as a Jackson mistake handed him the win. Miller was struggling on the feet for the first couple minutes and clearly behind, but Jackson left his neck exposed while pushing forward for a takedown attempt, and Jim responded with one of his trademark guillotine attempts. It ended up being enough to earn the win. Miller said in his post-fight interview that he wants to get to 50 fights with the company. It sounds crazy on the surface, but Miller, now 41 years old, keeps himself in great shape and has never had a serious injury. It's an attainable goal as long as the company is careful regarding who it matches him up against.

Booked for NYC event
LightweightUFC
October 2, 2024
Miller is scheduled to compete against fellow lightweight Damon Jackson at UFC 309 in New York City on Nov. 16, according to Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Nov. 16 will include Miller's first fight at Madison Square Garden since the UFC made the promotion's MSG event an annual festivity beginning in 2016. He will look to finish his 2024 on a high note after Bobby Green soundly defeated A10 at UFC 300.
Routed by Bobby Green
LightweightUFC
April 13, 2024
Miller lost to Bobby Green via unanimous decision (27-30, 25-30, 26-29) at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Set to turn 41 years of age in late-August, Miller deserves significant credit for seeing the final bell here. It ended up a massive rout when all was said and done, but there's a legitimate case to be made Miller won Round 1. The final two rounds? Not so much. In the latter stages of his career, Jim has struggled in most everything other than a grinding ground battle. Facing an unorthodox striker such as Green profiled as a potential worse-case scenario, and it played out that way inside the Octagon. Miller entered having won five of his prior six fights, but the UFC has been exceedingly careful regarding the level of opponent it has matched him up against. This result shows the company needs to continue that trend moving forward.
Pitted against Bobby Green
LightweightUFC
January 16, 2024
Miller is scheduled to face Bobby Green in a lightweight bout at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on April 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The 40-year-old Miller took down Gabriel Benitez to begin 2024, extending his win streak to two fights. Miller has won five of six fights dating back to October 2021 and will look to continue defying Father Time against Green, who lost his most recent bout.
Ageless wonder continues roll

Miller defeated Gabriel Benitez via submission (face crank) at 3:25 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Miller is probably going to slow down one day. Maybe. Actually, maybe not. The 40-year-old veteran and sure-fire Hall of Famer cruised past Benitez without issue, dominating his opponent on the feet and mixing in a couple trademark takedowns before closing the show with a face crank with a little over a minute to go. "A-10" has won four of five dating back to October 2021. The UFC has been very careful with the level of opposition it has been sending Miller's way, which should always been the case for an aging fighter. Jim spent his post-fight interview once again saying he hoped to fight at UFC 300 in April, and he mentioned Paul Felder (who was on commentary), Matt Brown and Brock Lesnar. He's not getting the final name, but either of the first two would be fun. Miller no doubt deserves to be the only fighter to compete at UFC 100, 200 and 300. He'll also walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.
Scheduled against Benitez again
LightweightUFC
November 22, 2023
Miller will compete against Gabriel Benitez in a lightweight fight at UFC Vegas 84 on Jan. 13, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Miller was supposed to fight Benitez at UFC Vegas 69 on Feb. 18 before the latter withdrew. Miller went on to fight Alexander Hernandez, who ended the former's three-fight winning streak. Miller bounced back with a knockout win over Jesse Butler, while Benitez has not fought since the aforementioned withdrawal.
