Gets no help from judges in defeat
Figlak lost to Austin Hubbard via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 55 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's the second questionable decision of the evening, with this result appearing far more egregious than the first. While the striking numbers couldn't have been closer, it certainly appeared to the naked eye that Figlik was the one pushing the pace and landing the more damaging blows. He did give up three takedowns, but got right back to his feet each time, as evidenced by the fact Hubbard closed with just 48 seconds worth of control time. It's just a really tough break for a guy who took a year-and-a-half off after dropping his UFC debut to Fares Ziam back in September 2022.

Draws Hubbard in April
Figlak (knee) will take on Austin Hubbard in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for April 27, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Figlak lost his UFC debut to Fares Ziam last September, getting out-classed in both striking and grappling en route to losing his undefeated professional record. He'll now look to get back on track against Hubbard, an older fighter who has lost back-to-back fights and three of his last four overall.

WDs from fight with Chris Duncan
Figlak withdrew Wednesday from his scheduled lightweight bout with Chris Duncan at UFC 286 in London on March 18 after recently undergoing knee surgery, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Figlak announced Jan. 14 via his personal Instagram account that he suffered a torn ACL "completely off the bone" as well as a meniscus tear and displaced tibia while training for the upcoming fight versus Duncan. Given the severity of his knee injury, Figlak may face an uphill battle to get back in the Octagon before the end of 2023. Duncan will remain on the card for the March 18 event and is now scheduled to fight Omar Morales, who will replace Figlak.

Taking on Chris Duncan
Figlak agreed to fight Chris Duncan in a lightweight bout at UFC 286 on March 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Figlak was dominated in his UFC debut against Fares Ziam in September -- he lost via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) -- and will have a chance to right the ship in March. Duncan is making his promotional debut after he earned a contract through Dana White's Contender Series back in August.

No-shows loss in UFC debut
Figlak lost to Fares Ziam via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
A highly-regard prospect at 155 pounds, Figlak entered his UFC debut as a -210 favorite. That's where the good times ended. In fact, outside of an immediate stoppage defeat, it's difficult to imagine how Figlak could have looked any worse. He allowed Ziam to dictate the pace of the fight from start to finish. Clearly down 20-18 entering Round 3, Figlak refused to throw any combinations, instead opting to hold onto Ziam, as if that was going to do something. His one chance came in the final minutes when he had Ziam in mount, only to find himself on the bottom just seconds later. It was a truly dreadful effort which leaves little hope for Figlak moving forward.
