DraftKings Fantasy Soccer: Saturday MLS Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings Fantasy Soccer series.

Matches (EDT)

7:30 p.m: Philadelphia Union v. New York Red Bulls

9:00 p.m: Colorado Rapids v. Minnesota United

Forwards

Kei Kamara, COL v. MIN ($8,200): Kamara has gone four consecutive games without a goal despite firing off 17 shots, but considering the lack of elite players on this two-game slate, he has GPP-winning upside against a Minnesota defense that has conceded three goals in each of their last two games.

Carlos Darwin Quintero, MIN v. COL ($8,100): Quintero started the season hot with five goals and three assists in his first six games, but he's hit a wall, going eight straight without a goal or an assist. He's quacking at the door with 18 shots over his last four outings, and the Loons will hope a visit to face a Colorado team that has given up the most goals in MLS will put him back on track.

Nicolas Mezquida, COL v. MIN ($8,000):  Mezquida is only in consideration if he happens to crack the starting lineup, but even as a substitute he's been impressive with two goals and 12 fantasy points per game average over his last three appearances. If he does start, Mezquida warrants cash-game consideration as a forward in a good matchup at home with a possible share of set pieces.

Midfielders

Jamiro Monteiro, PHI v. RBNY ($7,400): Monteiro has quietly been one of the hottest players in MLS over the last month, and he's made his faithful fantasy owners rather wealthy with tournament-winning

Midfielders

Jamiro Monteiro, PHI v. RBNY ($7,400): Monteiro has quietly been one of the hottest players in MLS over the last month, and he's made his faithful fantasy owners rather wealthy with tournament-winning scores over his last two outings. While he doesn't have a set-piece monopoly, Monteiro has taken a handful of corner kicks recently, and he converted a penalty kick in his last game.

Jan Gregus, MIN at COL ($7,200): Gregus serves as the governor of the Minnesota midfield with his ability to contribute across the board. He whipped in 16 crosses in his last game, and he should continue to see opportunities to get involved on the attacking end against a Colorado side that ranks dead-last in goals conceded.

Jack Price, COL v. MIN ($5,700): I've been beating the Jack Price drum all season, and he continues to supply cash-game production at a discounted salary. He's swung in at least seven crosses in four of his last five games, and has an assist in consecutive outings.

Defenders

Kai Wagner, PHI v. RBNY ($5,700): Wagner has been quiet over his last two games, but his ability to impose himself in the attack with multiple crosses justifies spending up given the lack of enticing options at the position. He'll look to continue to feed Kacper Przybylko and add to his team-leading four assists in a big game against the Red Bulls.

Kyle Duncan, RBNY at PHI ($5,400): Duncan and Connor Lade ($5,000) should deputize at outside back with Kemar Lawrence and Michael Amir Murillo away on international duty. The former two have shown a knack for running amuck and racking up points when given opportunities. Duncan is averaging 8.8 fantasy points per game across his five starts this season, and that's without any goal, assist or clean sheet points.

Keegan Rosenberry, COL v. MIN ($3,900): Rosenberry's lack of production since joining Colorado is reason to temper expectations, but for a wingback who has shown the ability to get involved going forward, $3,900 seems too cheap for a defender who will be looking to pick out Kamara throughout the match.

Goalkeeper

Tim Howard, COL v. MIN ($5,300): Despite the fact that Howard has conceded the most goals in MLS, a case can be made for rolling him out at home on a two-game slate. He's averaging over 11 fantasy points per game across his last three appearances and is up against a struggling Minnesota attack that has been shut out in each of their last two road games.

Luis Robles, RBNY at PHI ($4,400): Robles has three clean sheets in his last four starts, and in what could be a tight affair in an Eastern Conference clash at Philadelphia, he looks to be the best option of the two road goalkeepers if we're looking to save at the position.
