Sven Botman
25-Year-Old
Newcastle United
Premier

Another injury-riddled season
Botman logged eight appearances (six starts) with 25 clearances, nine tackles won, five interceptions and four clearances during Newcastle United's 2024-25 season.
ANALYSIS
For a second straight season with Newcastle United, injuries limited Botman's availability. This year, it was knee problems, not just one, that took the center-back out of commission. The aforementioned seasons include a combined 25 appearances (21 starts), which is less than those he logged during his first Newcastle campaign. Currently healthy, Botman is hoping to get one more chance as a regular starter. Because when the defender is available, manager Eddie Howe has had no problem primarily using a back-three with Botman, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar.

Questionable against Arsenal
Botman (knee) is dealing with pain following a knock in the last contest and is questionable for Sunday's clash against Arsenal, although the medical staff will do everything to give him a chance to be fit, coach Eddie Howe said in the press conference. "It was a knock, he got a bang on his knee. We're not sure about Sven's availability for the weekend but we'll give him a chance to be fit. We don't think it's a serious injury. He's been unlucky. You're going to get knocks and bruises in his position and this is a similar thing, he's been really unlucky on the last two occasions."
