Areola wasn't at his best during his second season as the full-time starter for West Ham. He kept four clean sheets for the second season in a row and conceded goals at a similar rate (41 allowed in 26 starts). He maybe wasn't an out-right problem in net, but he was rarely making big saves, and he made far fewer saves than he made in the 2023/24 campaign. The hope for the Hammers is that a full summer of Graham Potter will mean better things in 2025/26, and that starts with the defense getting more clean sheets.
