Vancouver Whitecaps FC
MLS
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cubas continued to be the rock in the center of the park in Vancouver, playing 2,288 minutes in 2024 and starting 27 times. Those are in line with his totals from 2023 when he first took on a full-time starting role for the Whitecaps. Any hopes of him developing playmaking upside seem to have passed, but he is a rock-solid central midfielder and has the ability to pile on defensive contributions. In 2024, he set a bevy of career highs including 86 tackles and 25 clearances, while also committing 20 fewer fouls than he did in 2023. He will remain a solid defensive option for the Whitecaps in 2025.

Starting versus Houston
Cubas (undisclosed) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's match against Houston Dynamo.
ANALYSIS
Cubas avoided a serious issue from the blow that forced him to leave the last MLS game, thus retaining his spot in the lineup over Ralph Priso. The Paraguayan is in subpar form but is usually capable of producing defensive stats and could contribute to his team's passing game.
