Perez was coming off a nine-goal performance in the 2023/24 season with Real Betis, but he went to Villarreal and seemingly turned into a new player. He ended the 2024/25 campaign with 19 goals and two assists across 30 league outings. It'd be a surprise if he came close to those numbers again, but it's not like his goals came in bunches, and he scored eight times across his final 10 appearances. While 19 may not be on the table again, another double-digit output seems like a good possibility.

Perez is not available for Wednesday's Champions League visit to Bayer Leverkusen as he deals with a muscular issue, manager Marcelino Garcia confirmed in press conference "He had a muscle problem this morning and is out; he is awaiting tests to have a more accurate diagnosis of how long he won't be with us", Juan Francisco de la Ossa of El Periodico Mediterraneo reports.
