Cole Palmer
23-Year-Old
Chelsea
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Palmer followed up his breakout campaign with 15 goals and eight assists in 2024/25, though it was a slight dip from the previous season's 22 goals and 11 assists. Notably, that prior production came in 581 fewer minutes, albeit with a ridiculous nine penalties converted (he took one last season). Still just 23 years old, Palmer should remain one of the best fantasy options in the league. Despite Chelsea adding numerous bodies to the attack, it's hard to see Palmer losing starts, keeping his floor higher than most having not dealt with a bad injury the past two years. There is some concern his numbers dropped in the second half of last season, but some of that can be attributed to injuries around him, something that shouldn't be a problem again given Chelsea's summer spending.
Rested against Atalanta
Palmer (fitness) isn't an option for Tuesday's trip to Atalanta, per manager Enzo Maresca."Cole, it's part of his process at the moment. He is not available, he can't play two games in three days, so we planned this and it's a way to protect him."
ANALYSIS
Palmer returned over the weekend, but he's not fit enough to play a heavy workload on a short week. With Tuesday being the last Champions League clash before the New Year, Palmer is being rested to finish recovering. Palmer is expected back Saturday against Everton with another spot in the XI a decent possibility.

Will build minutes gradually
Palmer is fully available and will build his minutes gradually in upcoming fixtures, coach Enzo Maresca said in the press conference. "He is available. In the last game, Cole was on the bench but with ten players, it was more complicated for Cole [to return] as he needs to come back to a [level of match] fitness condition. He is available and can start the game. The idea with him is to start giving him minutes until he is ready to play 90 minutes."

Trains with ball
Palmer (groin and toe) is feeling good as he was spotted back in training with the ball while wearing a protective boot, but he will likely return in December, coach Enzo Maresca said in the press conference. "Yes, Cole is wearing a [protective] boot. We don't know when he will be back but for sure it will be soon. He's already on the pitch, he's already touching the ball and the feeling [for him] is good. At the moment, we are only looking at tomorrow's game. It's a Champions League game against Barcelona, that is our focus and then we will look ahead to Arsenal. I don't think he will be available for these two games, but he is doing well."
