Martinelli continued to struggle to live up to the hype of his breakout 2022/23 campaign, as he finished 2024/25 with eight goals and four assists. The left winger still gets plenty of chances in the starting XI but his production as a creator and finisher have been wasteful. Martinelli finished with 40 chances created and 55 shots, both fewer than he managed in 2023/24. The talent and situation are there for a bounce back, but a season with 20 or more goal contributions seems less and less likely by the season.

Martinelli was forced off in the 59th minute of Tuesday's victory against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup after suffering from a knock, coach Mikel Arteta said in a press conference. "Martinelli is more of a knock and he wasn't comfortable to carry on after the second half."
