Hopes to train before Christmas
Musiala (leg) is still a bit far from returning but hopes to resume team training before Christmas, coach Vincent Kompany said in the press conference. "With Jamal Musiala, it's still a bit further away, but we're optimistic. I hope he trains with us before Christmas. Then 2026 can be a good year for him."
ANALYSIS
Musiala is still in the rehabilitation process of his severe leg injury suffered against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup and is hoping to resume team training before Christmas with the aim to come back into the match squad at the beginning of 2026. Musiala is an undisputed starter in the number 10 role when fully fit and will look to claim that spot when back available. While he is out, Serge Gnabry, Harry Kane or Lennart Karl have been replacing him in that role.
