RECENT FORM

Paris Saint-Germain (WDWWD) are averaging three goals scored per match across their last five fixtures (all competitions). In their three Champions League victories over Atalanta, Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen the Parisians have outscored their opponents 13-3 on aggregate.

Bayern Munich (WWWWW) have won each of their 15 fixtures (all competitions) to begin the season including Champions League victories over Chelsea, Pafos and Club Brugge by an aggregate score of 12-2.

FORMATIONS

Paris Saint-Germain are likely to deploy a 4-3-3 formation under Enrique. His high-pressing style demands a high work rate form his outfield players. When in possession, look for PSG's flexibility to flourish as the Parisians transform into a 3-2-5 or 2-3-5 shape with the ball.

Vincent Kompany typically employs a 4-2-3-1 formation that relies upon man-marking at the back when defending. When possession is lost, look for Bayern to enter the attacking-third by leveraging the pace of their wingers as they seek to feed talisman Harry Kane

LINEUP NOTES & INJURY NEWS

Champions League Predicted & Confirmed Lineups

Paris-Saint Germain Injury & Lineup News

Enrique will be forced to play without first-team central defender Illia Zabarnyi after he was shown a red card a the Parisians' frenetic 7-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Look for Marquinhos to capably deputize in central defense.

Further up the pitch, Desire Doue (hamstring) is set to miss a number of weeks. In his absence, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are likely to be deployed to fill the void left by Doue who had scored twice and assisted once across three appearances prior to his injury.

Bayern Munich Injury & Lineup News

The Bavarians most impactful injuries are those of the long-term variety. Alphonso Davies (knee) is training individually, but he has not yet resumed training with the team. Davies is expected to be out until at least December. Jamal Musiala (leg) has yet to resume training but is aiming for a January return, according to Kompany. In their respective absences, Konrad Laimer has most regularly slotted in a left-back while Serge Gnabry has scored four Bundesliga goals from the central-attacking-midfielder position.

KEY MATCHUPS

Midfield Mash-up

Enrique's presumed three-man midfield of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Warren Zaire-Emery have complimentary attributes that allows the trio to play with positional fluidity. Most often, Vitinha will assume the holding-midfield role while his teammates progress play into the attacking half.

Conversely, Bayern's midfield success is predicated on the ability of the double-pivot to effectively protect the backline. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic are most likely to draw the start in the two No. 6 roles while Gnabry assumes a position higher up the pitch in support of the attack.

The juxtaposition of midfield positional fluidity versus tactical stability will help determine the victor Tuesday at Parc des Princes.

PSG Full-backs versus Bayern Munich Wingers

Bayern Munich are most dangerous when attacking from the wing and creating angles to play the ball in to their star striker. Luis Diaz and Michael Olise have combined for nine goals and seven assists across the Bavarians first nine league fixtures.

The dynamic wingers are set to face stiffer competition Tuesday than they do domestically when they'll lineup across two of the world's top full-backs in Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi. Hakimi's speed allows him to keep pace with any winger in world football while also contributing to the attack. Mendes is a defense-first full-back who uses his physicality to keep defenders at-bay.

Harry Kane versus Lucas Chevalier

Success for any team versus Bayern Munich is measured by their ability, or inability, to keep Kane's name off of the scoresheet. The world class striker has scored a brace twice en route to bagging five goals from Bayern's first three Champions League fixtures. Aiming to repel the Englishman's attempts on target, Chevalier's ability to produce reaction saves from quickly-laced shot attempts and headed opportunities will determine who has the edge in the matchup of former Champions League winners.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is likely to attack from Paris Saint-Germian's right flank as he seeks to extend his Champions League goal streak to three successive appearances. Given Kvaratskhelia's pace, I expect him to cause havoc for Bayern Munich as the Bavarians will need to adjust the positioning of their double-pivot to assist the presumed left full-back Laimer in covering Kvaratskhelia's attacking runs.

Over his last five appearances (three starts) in all competitions, the winger has scored once and supplied three assists. I back Kvaratskhelia to create multiple chances and produce a goal contribution in the marquee matchup.

PREDICTED RESULT

Paris Saint-Germain 2 - Bayern Munich 1

UPCOMING FIXTURES

Paris Saint-Germain: Nov. 26 vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Bayern Munich: Nov. 26 at Arsenal
