Zamudio has signed a two-year contract with D.C. United with the option to extend for an additional year after transferring from USL affiliate Loudoun United, the club announced Monday.

ANALYSIS
Zamudio kept seven clean sheets in 27 USL appearances with Loudoun United this season, and the 24-year-old goalkeeper is now making the step up to MLS with D.C. His place on the depth chart will depend on whether David Ochoa makes an offseason move or not, but if Ochoa does leave then Zamudio would presumably be competing with Rafael Romo (knee) for the starting goalkeeper job in 2023.
