2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodri only had a small sample after an ACL tear left him sidelined for nearly the entire campaign. He returned for the final few games and saw even more time during the Club World Cup, so the thought is that he'll be close to 100 percent for the start of 2025/26. If that's the case and he remains fit, he could hold his usual midfield role the majority of the season with 30-plus starts in play. At his peak a couple years ago, he was frequently involved in goals, totaling eight goals and nine assists. It's hard to see him being near those numbers this season, but as long as he's on the pitch, he'll have the ball near the top of the box and good things usually happen for City in those instances.
Still not ready to return
Rodri (hamstring) is getting better and is close to return but that won't happen in Saturday's clash against Sunderland, coach Pep Guardiola said in the press conference. "No. But he is getting better. I don't know how long [until he's back]."
ANALYSIS
Rodri is still not an option for Manchester City, but the former Ballon d'Or is getting better and closer to make his return from a hamstring injury. The timeline for that to happen remains uncertain, but he will likely see the pitch again before the end of the year. Until he makes the squad, Nico Gonzalez is the one expected to replace him in the midfield for the Citizens.
