2022 Fantasy Outlook
An erroneous report announced Suzuki would be signing with the Padres, but shortly thereafter he agreed to a five-year, $85 million deal with the Cubs, and he's expected to be the everyday starter in right field. The 27-year-old is coming over from the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan, where he won the equivalent of the Gold Glove Award five times. He's coming off his most productive offensive season in 2021, as he hit .317/.433/.636 with 38 home runs, 88 RBI and a 88:89 BB:K in 134 games. Suzuki shouldn't be expected to replicate those numbers while facing better pitchers in MLB, but he could be a serviceable option with some upside in his rookie campaign. Read Past Outlooks
