Best NBA Bets Today (Sunday, Jan. 4)
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Miami Heat: Jordan Poole over 2.5 three-pointers made, +110 @ BetMGM
Poole might not be one of the most efficient three-point shooters from a percentage perspective, as he's making just 30.1 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. However, the veteran guard has been on a tear of late and has made exactly four three-pointers in each of his last three games, hitting 38.7 percent of those attempts in that stretch. Having connected on two or more threes in eight of his 10 outings since returning from an injury that caused him to miss 18 games between Nov. 5 and Dec. 8, Poole might be a solid bet to hit this line based on volume. He's averaging 8.7 threes attempted per game over his last 10 games.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Sacramento Kings: Giannis Antetokounmpo over 39.5 points + rebounds, -112 @ FanDuel
Antetokounmpo should feast in this game against the Kings, and the only reason why he might not be able to crack this line is that he might not play enough minutes to do so. Antetokounmpo has a favorable matchup against a Kings team that not only struggles on defense but is also without Domantas Sabonis (knee). Antetokounmpo, who's listed as probable for Sunday's game due to a calf problem, is coming off a 30-point, 10-rebound performance against the Hornets on Friday. He's tallied at least 40 points + rebounds in his last two games, and the matchup is favorable enough to allow him to extend this streak to three contests.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James over 35.5 points + rebounds + assists, -115 @ DraftKings
Luka Doncic is going to carry the Lakers offensively, but in the absence of Austin Reaves (calf), James will be the No. 2 on offense. He seemed fine in the win over the Grizzlies on Friday, as the 41-year-old star forward posted 31 points, nine rebounds and six assists across 36 minutes. Over his last 10 games, James has had some ups and downs, but he's still averaging 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while hitting the line of at least 36 P+R+A five times. Look for him to take advantage of a favorable matchup here to fill the stat sheet once again.
