This is it. We've reached the final Sunday of the fantasy NBA season. The injuries, rest days and late-season rotation changes have been crazy down the stretch. If you can stay on top of all the random changes, you'll find that there's a lot of value to be had in your DFS matchups. All players listed below are under the $6,000 threshold to help build value into your daily fantasy rosters. Here's a look at Sunday's value plays.
Point Guard
Ramon Sessions, WAS, $5,000: This pick is completely dependent on John Wall being rested again Sunday against Atlanta. My guess is there's a good chance Wall sits the rest of the way, as he's been battling ankle injuries throughout the season, and the Wizards are locked into the No.5 seed in the East. Sessions has scored no less than 24 fantasy points in back-to-back starts and is a solid bet to repeat that performance again Sunday against Atlanta who has been resting various starters for weeks. Look for Sessions to produce at 5x his price or better Sunday.
Ray McCallum, SAC, $5,000: With DeMarcus Cousins (foot) and Rudy Gay (concussion) likely shut down for the remainder of the season, McCallum will likely be a player that I use every day that he is available for the rest of the season. He's scored 31 fantasy points in three out of the last four games and 24 fantasy points or more in five out the last six. He's proven he can handle the extra minutes and has enough offensive punch to lead the Kings in scoring. Throw Sweet Baby Ray into your lineups.
Shooting Guard
Dion Waiters, OKC, $4,900: Waiters finally seems to found consistency and is coming off of a monster 40 fantasy-point performance against Sacramento on Friday. He's scored 20 fantasy points or more in four out of the last six contests, while just missing the 20-point threshold with 19.3 fantasy points last Tuesday against the Spurs. The matchup Sunday for Waiters is a good one, as the C.J. Miles/Rodney Stuckey shooting guard duo for the Pacers have allowed 24.4 fantasy points per game over the past 10 games, good for 25th in the league. The price is right for Waiters to be in your lineups again Sunday.
Randy Foye, DEN, $4,800: Foye is in the midst of a solid three-game stretch where he's scored 29, 28 and 36 fantasy points on FanDuel. Sacramento has basically been a DFS auto-play for their opponents at both guard spots, and with the Kings coming in second-to-last in points allowed to opposing two-guards over the past ten games (27.0), things clearly haven't changed. Foye may very well be one of the best deals available this Sunday.
Small Forward
Omri Casspi, SAC, $4,600: Casspi's salary has finally started to catch up to his production, rising by $600 over the past two weeks, but Casspi has still returned value at around 5x his price tag, averaging 27.16 fantasy points over the past six games. His recent run was highlighted by a 40 fantasy-point performance Tuesday against Minnesota. The matchup for the Kings is a juicy one, with Denver coming in 27th in points allowed to opposing small forwards in the past 10 games. Time to lock Casspi into your lineups this Sunday.
Power Forward
Marvin Williams, CHA, $5,000: Williams is a recommend play Sunday for no other reason than he's the last man standing in the Hornets' frontcourt. Al Jefferson, Cody Zeller, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist all have gone down with injuries. Williams has scored 20+ fantasy points in eight of his last nine contests, making him a solid cash game option. Detroit does not defend either frontcourt position well, allowing 21.3 points per game to opposing power forwards. That's enough for me to roll with Williams in my lineups Sunday.
Ryan Kelly, LAL, $4,800: Remember last week when I recommended Kelly and said he was a GPP-only play? Well, things have certainly changed, as Kelly has averaged above 35 minutes per game in his past four contests and has scored no less than 21.9 fantasy points in that span. The situation on the opposite side of the ball simply could not be any better, as Dirk Nowitzki's defense has fallen off a cliff this season. Dallas comes in ranked 26th in points allowed to opposing power forwards this season and dead last over the past 10 games. It's Kelly all the way this Sunday.
Center
Brandan Wright, PHX, $4,900: Injuries create opportunity, and Wright has been able to cash in on extra minutes with Alex Len ruled out for the regular season with a broken nose. Wright has managed to score 22 fantasy points or more in four of the past five games and topped the 30-point mark twice in that span. The Spurs obviously don't present the best matchup overall, but defensive rebounding at the center position has been a weakness for them all season long. San Antonio gives up 15 boards per game on average to opposing centers, ranking them 26th in the league. Wright makes for a nice, sneaky play under $5K on FanDuel.
