Spurs Host Pacers on Sunday
The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Indiana Pacers at Frost Bank Center on Sunday.

The Pacers (34-27) have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA, but their performance on Friday was embarrassing. They lost 129-102 against the New Orleans Pelicans, with the starters sitting most of the second half. Tyrese Haliburton actually went scoreless in that game and it's a testament to how poor they played throughout that blowout defeat. With that said, the Pacers won three of four games before that defeat, climbing up to eighth in the Eastern Conference. What this team really wants to do is avoid the Play-In Tournament, sitting 0.5 games behind the Orlando Magic in sixth. They're also just 1.5 games behind the New York Knicks in fourth, so this club can definitely achieve that goal.

The Spurs (12-48) have been the worst team in the Western Conference, sitting four games behind the Portland Trail Blazers in 14th. The Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards have yet to reach 10 wins, meaning San Antonio will likely finish with the third-worst record in the NBA. The pieces are in play for this team to be successful in the future though because Victor Wembanyama has surpassed all of the loefty expectations he had at the beginning of the year. He's one of the best defensive players in his rookie season and is looking like one of the best players in the league. He might be the best player in the NBA as early as next season and it could reset this franchise for the next 20 years as long as he continues to improve.

These clubs played on November 6, with Indiana prevailing, 152-111.
