Sixers Host Hawks on Monday
The Philadelphia 76ers play host to the Atlanta Hawks at Wells Fargo Center on Monday.

The Hawks (11-9) come into this matchup losing their last two games, posting a 4-6 record across their last 10 games. Everyone expected this team to be much better this season, but it's clear this club has some things to figure out. The John Collins situation has been going on for years, and the trade rumors are swirling once again after another disappointing start to the year. This team knows he has the talent to be an All-Star player, but it just hasn't worked in Atlanta for whatever reason. Adding Dejounte Murray in the mix has taken away even more usage from JC, and it's hard to see them keeping him for much longer if the recent struggles continue.

The Sixers (11-9) don't have the sexiest record in the NBA, but this team has to be encouraged. They've lost Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey to foot injuries over the last month, and these role players have kept this team's head above water. They actually enter this matchup winning six of their last eight games, handing the Orlando Magic a 133-103 beatdown on Sunday in their most recent outing. Tobias Harris and Shake Milton carried the load in that win, and Milton has been magnificent filling in for Harden and Maxey. He's been a guaranteed 20 points every night while flirting with triple-double averages as well. No one knew he had that in his game, and it'll be scary to see how this team looks when those three All-Stars return in the coming weeks and Milton is the playmaker off the bench.

Philly has dominated this series over the last two years, winning five of their last seven games over Atlanta.

The Washington Wizards will host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Capital One Arena on Monday.

The Wizards (10-10) fell to .500 after another loss, this time against the Boston Celtics by a 130-121 score, on Sunday. Washington has now lost its two games against the Celtics this season, and it’s a complicated turn of events for the team since the Wizards have now dropped three in a row while also falling to 3-6 on the road this season. Bradley Beal was Washington’s top scorer with 30 points, four assists and two steals, while Kristaps Porzingis ended with 21 points and four boards. Monte Morris dished out 16 points and eight assists, and Deni Avdija delivered 10 points. Taj Gibson added 12 points off the bench.

Kyle Kuzma (back), Rui Hachimura (ankle) and Johnny Davis (groin) are out, while Delon Wright continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

The Timberwolves (10-9) suffered a disappointing defeat against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, dropping the game by a massive 23-point differential (137-114). Hornets Look To Build On Two-Game Win Streak
The Boston Celtics play host to the Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden on Monday evening.

The Hornets (6-14) look to build on a two-game win streak as they head back out on the road with a chance to add to their 2-8 road record. Terry Rozier leads the team, averaging 20.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. Kelly Oubre averages 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.7 steals, while P.J. Washington averages 15.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. The Hornets average 109.4 points per game, which is seventh fewest in the league. On the other end, they are giving up an average of 114.2 points per game. They continue to deal with injuries, as LaMelo Ball (ankle), Gordon Hayward (shoulder), Cody Martin (knee) and Dennis Smith (ankle) will remain sidelined.

Meanwhile, this marks the second game of a back-to-back for the Celtics (16-4), after an impressive home win over the Wizards on Sunday. The Celtics jumped out to a great start and led 72- 55 at halftime. They kept up the pace, outscoring the visitors 41-33 in the third quarter to make it a 25-point game heading into the fourth. The visitors mounted a strong rally in the final frame, but the Celtics kept their composure and closed out their third straight win. Jaylen Brown led the way in the win, with 36 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Malcolm Brogdon followed up with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Nets Host Magic on Monday
The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Orlando Magic at Barclay's Center on Monday.

The Magic (5-15) look like one of the worst teams in the NBA, posting a 1-8 record on the road. They've been almost just as bad in their home arena, and it looks like another rebuilding year for this young group. They also come into this matchup amid a four-game losing streak, losing by 30 points on Sunday night. A shorthanded Sixers team handed them that beatdown, and it's clear this young group needs some leadership. Cole Anthony is expected to return from his oblique injury in the next week, and that'd be a nice start. This team has been playing without a point guard for most of the season, and that's difficult in today's NBA, even if they do have the tallest starting unit in the NBA.

The Nets (10-11) have been better over recent weeks, posting an 8-5 record across their last 13 games. That directly correlates with the resurgence of Ben Simmons, who's back to his triple-double ways over the last two weeks. Having him return to the dynamic stud we saw in Philly is a huge boost for this club, and it's just a matter of time before he's clicking with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The next step is to find a third scorer, and fans are hopeful it'll be Seth Curry. He certainly showed that on Sunday, dropping 29 points on 11-of-15 from the field in that victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. They can't expect that every night but 15-20 points from him off the bench would change everything for this club.

Brooklyn has won six of their last eight games over Orlando in this series.

The Raptors (10-9) can build off the momentum from a win in their last game as they face the third and final game of a home stand with a chance to build on their 7-2 home record. They continue to deal with injury trouble as Dalano Banton (ankle), Scottie Barnes (knee) and Justin Champagnie (back) are listed as questionable for action, while Precious Achiuwa (ankle), Otto Porter (toe) and Pascal Siakam (adductor) will be sidelined. On the bright side, O.G. Anunoby continues to play well, averaging 18.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game. Chris Boucher is on a roll, averaging 17.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 10 steals over his last five games, with three straight double-doubles. Fred VanVleet averages 19.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game. The Raptors average 111.4 points per game, and they are holding opponents to an average of 109.6 points per game.

Meanwhile, this marks the second game of a back-to-back for the Cavs (13-7) after an impressive comeback win in Detroit on Sunday. They fell behind early by 12 , early in the first, but they gained traction and cut it to a six-point game heading into the second. They could not make progress through the second and trailed by five at halftime. They stayed solid in the third but could not cut into the deficit, trailing by five heading into the final frame. However, they outscored the hosts 29-16 in the fourth to rally to the road win. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 32 points, five rebounds and a steal, in the win. Evan Mobley followed up with 20 points, 13 rebounds and a block, while Darius Garland finished with 19 points, three rebounds and 10 assists. The Cavaliers will look to keep it rolling as they face the third and final game of a road trip.
