Quarterback
Bo Levi Mitchell, CGY vs. WPG ($10,700): There will be plenty flocking to Mike Reilly ($12,100) and Jeremiah Masoli ($11,100) near the top of the quarterback tier this week, and both are perfectly capable of churning out strong performances. However, Mitchell comes at a discount, has an attractive matchup, and has been offering impressive production in his own right. The Stamps signal caller has eclipsed 20 fantasy points in three of his last four games, topping out with a season-high 28.4 fantasy points against the Roughriders in Week 10 on the strength of a four-touchdown effort. The Blue Bombers also check in allowing 267.1 passing yards per contest, along with the second-most completions (217), second-most pass attempts (321) and third-highest completion percentage (67.6). The fact Mitchell is averaging an impressive 302.5 passing yards over four home games certainly helps make his case as well.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson, TOR at MTL ($8,700): Bethel-Thompson remains very reasonably priced for a player averaging a robust 24.9 fantasy points over his first two starts. While a substantial chunk of his production came in his first start against the Redblacks when he threw for four touchdowns, Bethel-Thompson was nevertheless impressive against the Lions in Week 10 while racking up 260 yards and a touchdown. The matchup couldn't line up better for him in Week 11, as the Alouettes continue to bleed fantasy production to opposing quarterbacks. Montreal is allowing the most passing touchdowns (22), most passing first downs (141), most passing yards per game (339.7), most completions (238) and highest completion percentage (71.9), and that's just a sampling of some of their poor pass defense metrics. Bethel-Thompson can also pick up yards on the ground (54 rushing yards in first start), giving him another dimension with which to generate a rewarding return on his modest price.
Zach Collaros, SSK at BC ($8,000): After a strong Week 10 debut, the Alouettes' Antonio Pipkin ($7,100) is also an interesting option for those that need to save even more cash. However, Collaros has been very productive in his own right during his two starts since returning from a concussion. The veteran has totaled 12.8 and 15.54 fantasy points in that pair of contests, and he'll draw a Week 11 matchup that gives him an opportunity to continue producing .The Lions have allowed the fourth-most passing first downs (101), third-highest passing yards per game (292.4), fourth-highest completion percentage (64.6) and third-highest average yards per pass (8.5). BC has also yielded 14 completions of greater than 30 yards and a 106.9 passer rating on pass attempts of greater than 20 yards, setting up the possibility of a few big plays for the Riders.
Running Back
James Wilder, Jr., TOR at MTL ($8,500): The Alouettes defensive unit has been bad against the run as well, allowing the most rushing first downs (81), second-most rushing yards per game (127.4) and most rushes of greater than 20 yards (10). Wilder is in the midst of a second consecutive strong season, scoring 18.2 to 26.7 fantasy points in five of the last six games. He's logged at least four receptions in five straight contests as well, rounding out his fantasy production in impressive fashion. Given Montreal's vulnerabilities through the air, Wilder could be in for one of his best all-around fantasy performances of the season.
Alex Green, HAM vs. EDM ($7,100): Green has played in only two games this season, but he's made sure to make his presence felt. The powerful back has accumulated 19.4 and 21.2 fantasy points, respectively, against the Alouettes and Blue Bombers, while logging 30 rushing touches overall. Meanwhile, the Eskimos have allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns (13), second-highest average yards per rush (5.4) and seven rushes of greater than 20 yards. Green has notched double-digit carries in seven of eight CFL games, so the workload should definitely be there versus Edmonton, especially considering the Ti-Cats may try to extend drives and keep the ball out of Mike Reilly's hands as much as possible.
Romar Morris, CGY vs. WPG ($5,900): If Marcus Thigpen were to miss the Roughriders' game game against the Lions with his undisclosed injury, then Tre Mason ($6,000) is also very intriguing at just $100 more. However, Morris is also interesting if Don Jackson were to be sidelined a third straight game with his hamstring problem, always a possibility given the unpredictable nature of a soft-tissue injury. The Blue Bombers shape up as attractive targets, considering they've yielded the second-most rushing first downs (69) and most rushing touchdowns (14). Morris has upped his rushing yardage total in each of his games this season, topping out at 70 yards in Week 10 against the Roughriders. He's also had a presence in the passing game, logging a combined 11 catches over the last three contests.
William Stanback, MTL vs. TOR ($4,000): Tyrell Sutton has already been ruled out for Week 11, putting Stanback firmly in play as the discounted running back option of the week. The 24-year-old has mostly made his bones on special teams, racking up 429 kickoff return yards. However, he's slated to serve as the lead back in Week 11 against an Argonauts defense that's allowing 115.3 rushing yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry. Stanback should be set for double-digit carries if Sutton's typical workload is any indication, which would give him ample opportunity to pay off his bargain price.
Wide Receiver/Slotback
Brandon Banks, HAM vs. EDM ($9,800): There's plenty of appealing options near the top of the receiver pool, but Banks presents as an attractive alternative for those who don't want to try to figure out which of the Eskimos' pair of star receivers will be the one to explode this week. Banks has been providing numbers the same caliber of D'haquille Williams ($9,900) and Derel Walker ($9,400), scoring 23.3 to 29.7 fantasy points in his last three games. He's eclipsed 20 fantasy points in six of eight games this season, all contests in which he's surpassed the century mark in receiving yardage. He'll be poised to serve as one of Jeremiah Masoli's most prolific targets again versus the Eskimos, which the Ti-Cats will have to remain aggressive against to keep up. Edmonton has allowed the most completions of over 20 yards (19) this season, which dovetails perfectly with Banks solid 52.9 percent catch rate on targets of that distance.
S.J. Green, TOR at MTL ($7,500): Green had a down game in Week 10, but he'll be poised for a nice bounce back against his old Montreal squad's porous secondary. The Alouettes' multiple poor pass defense metrics were detailed in Bethel-Thompson's entry, but there's another couple that enhance Green's case further -- Montreal has allowed the most second-completions of over 20 yards (18), as well as the second-highest passer efficiency rating on targets over 20 yards (127.2). Green has already generated a pair of explosive performances this season (28.1 and 37.4 fantasy points), and he could be in for a return of similar caliber given the way the matchup lines up in Week 11.
Jordan Williams-Lambert, SSK at BC ($5,900): Williams-Lambert had been progressively earning a greater target share in the Roughriders offense for several weeks, a slow build that culminated in a 10-catch, 152-yard performance versus the stingy Stamps in Week 10. The 24-year-old now has 25 catches over the last four contests overall, and a matchup against a Lions defense whose weaknesses on pass defense were elaborated on in Collaros' entry could be a recipe for more of the same. Williams-Lambert has excellent size at 6-foot-3 and 220-plus pounds, making him a viable target anywhere on the field, but especially in the close quarters of the red zone. Given the way he outperformed his price versus the best defense in the CFL last week, he shapes up as an excellent mid-tier play in Week 11.
Bryant Mitchell, EDM at HAM ($4,200): Mitchell represents very cost-effective exposure to the explosive Eskimos passing game, even though he's not listed as a starter on the Week 11 depth chart. Mitchell could still see his fair share of targets given the number of pass attempts Mike Reilly typically puts up, and at a price just over $4K, he doesn't have to do much to justify his cost. Mitchell exploded for seven catches for 128 yards versus the Alouettes in Week 10, providing a glimpse at his upside. While he's not likely to see the same amount of opportunity against the Ti-Cats, Reilly spread 33 completions among eight different pass catchers last week, so there could be more than enough touches for Mitchell regardless.
Team Defense
Saskatchewan Roughriders at BC Lions ($4,300): The Roughriders came through handsomely in Week 10 against the Stampeders, and they're in play again versus a decent but unspectacular Lions offense in Week 11. Saskatchewan's defense is averaging a CFL-high 13.4 fantasy points per contest, logging double-digit fantasy points in four of six games. The Riders check in with the second-most sacks (21), most two-and-outs forced (57) and the second-most forced turnovers (20), including the most fumble recoveries (11). Meanwhile, the Lions have committed the third-most turnovers (19) and allowed the fourth-most sacks (17). The Riders have also done a very good job of providing balanced defense (258.9 pass yards per game allowed, 78.9 rush yards per game allowed), numbers that have led to the second-lowest net offensive yards allowed per game (311.4) in the CFL.
