Quarterback
Ricky Ray, TOR at OTT ($10,00): All of the quarterbacks above Ray's price tag in Week 5 have warts of some sort: Mike Reilly ($11,000) will be missing Adarius Bowman (hamstring), Bo Levi Mitchell ($10,600) is facing the second-stingiest secondary in the Riders and Trevor Harris ($10,200) underwhelmed last week and faces a tough secondary in the Argos as well. That leaves Ray as the next-highest-priced option in a matchup against a Redblacks secondary that's surrendered 312.5 yards per game through the air. Additionally, Ray has thrown for no less than 327 yards in any game and cleared 20 fantasy points in two of the first four weeks in head coach Marc Trestman's high-powered attack, with one of those contests against Ottawa in Week 3.
Travis Lulay, BC vs. WPG ($9,300): After racking up 39.14 fantasy points on the strength of a 436-yard, three-touchdown effort in relief of Jonathon Jennings (shoulder) last week, Lulay is slated to get the starting call against a Blue Bombers defense that's yielded the second-most passing yards per game (337.0) and five touchdowns through their first three contests. The veteran showed outstanding rapport with veteran Nick Moore and connected with eight different pass catchers overall in last week's explosive outing, and he should be even more in synch after preparing as a starter for this matchup.
Kevin Glenn, SSK at CGY ($9,100): Glenn is significantly underpriced, considering he's posted 32.28 and 38.4 fantasy points, respectively in the last two weeks. To put those numbers into perspective, only Travis Lulay's aforementioned tally last week in relief has exceeded either of those totals this season. Glenn, who's made no less than 43 pass attempts in any of his three games, figures to be putting the ball up plenty against the Stamps, which have surrendered 308.8 yards per game through the air and five passing touchdowns thus far in 2017.
Running Back
Andrew Harris, WPG at BC ($7,300): Harris has seen a boost in his fantasy points in each of the last two games, topping out at 23.4 fantasy points versus the Argos in Week 4. He also hauled in 14 receptions over the first two games before notching just two last week, and his dual role typically keeps him involved for all four quarters regardless of the score. The Lions check in giving up the fourth-most rushing yards (74.4) per contest and just a shade under 300 passing yards per game (299.8), so the matchup for Harris is solid in both phases.
Cameron Marshall, SSK at CGY ($5,900): Marshall has been of the pleasant fantasy surprises of the early going, and his price remains reasonable despite a recent justifiable boost. The Stamps surrender the second-most rush yards (97.0) per game and Marshall has logged double-digit carries in two of his first three games, while also hauling in four receptions in each contest. Therefore, it's fair to assume the touches are likely to once again be there for the Riders' top back, making him a solid value play at his price.
Ross Scheuerman, HAM vs. EDM ($5,800): Scheuerman checks in right alongside Marshall in terms of a modestly-priced GPP option, considering his role seems to be expanding and he's essentially been handed the keys to the Ti-Cats' backfield. No other Hamilton running back touched the ball except Scheuerman against the Lions in Week 4, and despite garnering a solid 15.7 fantasy points and scoring his first touchdown, his ceiling was capped by the fact his team was playing catch-up in the second half. The Eskimos give up the most rush yards (98.3) per game as well, furthering Scheuerman's case in a game that Hamilton may try to play some ball control in so as to keep the ball away from the dangerous Mike Reilly.
Wide Receiver/Slotback
Naaman Roosevelt, SSK at CGY (8,600): Although there are several options priced above him, Roosevelt is a potential steal at his price, considering he's increased his fantasy production in each game and scored 29.7 fantasy points in Week 3 against the Ti-Cats on the strength of 10 receptions for 167 yards. In what should be an aggressive game plan versus the potent Stamps, Roosevelt should see plenty of targets against a Calgary defense that's already yielded four 100-yard receiving performances this season.
Brandon Zylstra, EDM vs. OTT (8,000): The proverbial stars align for Zylstra in Week 5, considering that fellow receiver Adarius Bowman (hamstring) will sit out the contest and he faces what has easily been the most porous secondary in the CFL thus far this season. The Ti-Cats' 427.7 passing yards per game allowed is the worst mark in the league by a full 90 yards, while Zylstra has already posted two performances of over 20 fantasy points in his first three games. All of the Eskimos pass catchers are under consideration in Week 5 given the circumstances, but Zylstra should be at the top of the list considering his target share and talent.
Kamar Jorden, CGY vs. SSK ($7,700): Jorden is averaging an outstanding 23.2 fantasy points over his first four weeks, having scored no less than 18.2 fantasy points in any game. He's already racked up four touchdowns as well, and although the Riders have been tough in the secondary over their first three games, Jorden is a budding star that has undeniably gained the trust of the rocket-armed Bo Levi Mitchell. Marquay McDaniel ($7,100) and DaVaris Daniels ($7,300) are formidable competitors for the quarterback's attention, but it's hard to ignore Jorden's consistency and stellar production, particularly at his price.
Armanti Edwards, TOR vs. OTT ($6,900): For those needing to save even further, Jalen Saunders ($6,000) certainly makes for an appealing candidate as well. However, it's also prudent to seriously consider at least one member of the Argos' stat sheet-stuffing air attack, and Edwards provides you some exposure at a reasonable price. Granted, he might be ideally suited for GPPs instead of cash, as his production has been down the last two weeks after he racked up 13.8 and 32.1 fantasy points, respectively, in the first two games of the season. The matchup and circumstances line up for him in Week 5, however, as DeVier Posey (foot) remains out and Toronto faces off against an Ottawa defense that has surrendered eight passing touchdowns, three 100-yard receiving performances and even a 200-yard effort to Edwards' teammate S.J. Green.
Team Defense
Toronto Argonauts vs. Ottawa Redblacks ($4,700): Honing in on an effective defense in the pass-happy CFL can be challenging to say the least, but the one constant that the Argos seem to have demonstrated thus far has been an ability to get to the quarterback. Toronto comfortably leads the league with 14 sacks through their first four games, and over time, sacks often lead to turnovers. The Argos' other defensive stats don't look shabby either, as they're yielding second-lowest rush yards per contest (65.3) and third-fewest pass yards (269.0). The Redblacks can certainly put points on the board and will undoubtedly get their share of yards, but the Argos' ability to get heavy pressure is likely to cause plenty of disruption and help them compile some solid fantasy production.
