Best EuroLeague Bets for Wednesday, Nov. 12
There's no denying the wall we have hit after a hot start to the season. Teams are healthier now, new players have joined clubs, coaches on the hot seat have shaken up rotations without warning, sportsbooks are making sharper adjustments, and this has all contributed to the current lull. I hinted a couple weeks back to lighten the units until we catch the books napping on late injury news, and I think that's how we should proceed until we find our groove again.
Although this phrase is overused in sports betting spaces, I do believe only about three or four plays over the past month were poor reads in hindsight -- two of those came Tuesday -- so I believe we will get back on track.
Lastly, FanDuel has finally started adding alternate lines for player props. That service typically takes much less juice than similar plays on DraftKings, so we will be looking to capitalize in the weeks and months ahead.
All odds for EuroLeague player props current as of 7:00 AM ET Wednesday.
PICKS TO CLICK
Armel Traore Over 6.5 Points (-122 FanDuel)
Glynn Watson Over 17.5 Points+Assists (-105 bet365)
Per RotoWire's EuroLeague Injury Report, all of Nando de Colo, Shaquille Harrison, Thomas Heurtel, Melvin Ajinca and Edwin Jackson remain out for ASVEL, so plenty of usage will again be available. From our perspective, it was encouraging to see ASVEL run a short rotation its last time out, with five players getting at least 25 minutes. David Lighty is expected back Wednesday, but I believe both Traore and Watson are still primed to take on added opportunities. I prefer Traore, who appears to be ascending with double digits in three straight appearances across domestic and EuroLeague contests.
Devin Booker Over 15.5 Points+Rebounds (-130 bet365)
Devin Booker 15+ Points (+230 FanDuel)
Zach LeDay came back strong last week, tossing up 25 points in Round 9, but he is back on the shelf with an injury sustained near the end of that contest. Josh Nebo will be back in the mix for Round 10, so we won't have the 30-minute floor we have been accustomed to seeing from Booker, but we still have a nice buy-low spot against a team that has trouble containing opposing big men -- particularly those that can stretch the floor.
Xavier Rathan-Mayes Under 8.5 Points (-110 bet365)
Rathan-Mayes has found himself in this column frequently this season with all the shuffling in Bayern's backcourt, and for Round 10 we have him below the line for multiple reasons. I mentioned from the beginning that I'm going to enjoy comparing his lines to the minutes I have projected for him, and I believe this one is inflated. Why, you may ask? The addition of Spencer Dinwiddie was going to eat into the minutes and usage for Rathan-Mayes at some point, and although the former jumped into the starting lineup almost immediately, he has found himself in foul trouble while adjusting to EuroLeague referees, which has allowed Rathan-Mayes to retain a familiar role. Do I wish we could just take Dinwiddie props so we don't have to go with the less-fun under? Yes, but that's not the case, and I think I like this play just as much I would enjoy Dinwidde ladders Wednesday.
