EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge Picks: Round 14
It has been a while, but the international break is behind us and EuroLeague play resumes Thursday! That means it is again time to set your EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge lineups.
If you have any questions or comments about strategy or the picks below, feel free to drop those at the bottom of this article or reach out on X via @RotoWireEuro.
Guard
Sylvain Francisco, Zalgiris Kaunas (17.3 credits)
Francisco has notched 128.10 FPT over his last five games and a league-leading 93.20 FPT in the previous three Rounds, as the experienced French guard has taken over for Zalgiris even though the team has gone 1-2 in the past three Rounds. He's coming off back-to-back games with at least 23 points and 11 assists, and while the price tag is high, it's worth riding the hot hand and trusting him to deliver at home against Maccabi in Round 14.
Elijah Bryant, Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv (16.2 credits)
The most productive player in the EuroLeague from a fantasy perspective over the last five Rounds, Bryant has accrued an impressive 149.70 FPT in that stretch. For the sake of comparison, the second-best player in that span, Francisco, has 128.10 FPT. Bryant is coming off a 13-point, six-rebound, two-assist effort against Real Madrid in Round 13. That wasn't his best line, but his consistency on a game-to-game basis certainly makes him a player worth targeting as a captain.
Leandro Bolmaro, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (10.4 credits)
Bolmaro endured a relatively slow start to the campaign, but he's been turning things around of late. With seven double-digit scoring performances in his last nine games, Bolmaro can be a reliable source of fantasy production as a secondary guard in case you're looking to spend a big chunk of your budget in other positions. Over his last five games, Bolmaro is averaging 12.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 17.9 FPT per contest.
Matt Morgan, Virtus Bologna (8.9 credits)
If you need a one-digit credit player to round out your roster and need to add a guard into the mix, then Morgan could be a serviceable alternative. He ranks in the Top 35 in FPT over the last five Rounds with 69.00 (13.8 per game) and is coming off a 13-point effort in the Round 13 loss to Fenerbahce. He's scored in double digits in five games in a row, averaging 14.0 points per game and shooting 50 percent from the floor in that stretch.
Forward
Filip Petrusev, Dubai Basketball (15.8 credits)
Petrusev ranks as the best forward in the league from a fantasy perspective if factoring in the last five games, as he's posted 101.20 FPT -- he's the lone forward to reach triple-digit FPT in that span. Petrusev is coming off a 19-point, five-rebound performance in the Round 13 win over Paris Basketball, and his consistency has been unmatched. He's scored in double digits in every one of his games thus far. The price tag is elevated, as Petrusev is one of the most expensive forwards ahead of his Round 14 slate, but he's worth the investment. He's certainly a player to target if you're looking for a forward to anchor your lineup.
Trey Lyles, Real Madrid (13.6 credits)
Lyles is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, though, posting two points and four rebounds across 19 minutes in the win over Hapoel Tel Aviv in Round 13. However, he had cleared the 20-point mark in three of his previous four appearances in that stretch. Lyles could be primed for a bounce-back performance in Round 14 against Anadolu Efes. Despite that bad showing against Hapoel, Lyles has racked up 94.90 FPT over his last five Rounds, the third-best mark among forwards in the league, only trailing Filip Petrusev and Roman Sorkin.
Roman Sorkin, Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv (11.8 credits)
Sorkin has been one of the lone bright spots for a Maccabi Tel Aviv team that enters Round 14 tied with ASVEL for the worst record in the league at 3-10. Sorkin has notched a total of 95.20 FPT in the last five Rounds, the second-best output among forwards in that span. He's coming off a 20-point performance in the loss to Milan in Round 13, and that was the third time he's reached that mark in the current campaign.
Azuolas Tubelis, Zalgiris Kaunas (10.0 credits)
Zalgiris have been playing well in recent weeks, and the contributions of Tubelis, who has racked up 83.90 FPT in the last five Rounds, have been key. He got off to a bit of a slow start but has gotten going with 15 or more points in each of his last three outings. Furthermore, Tubelis has scored in double digits in six of his previous seven contests. His ability to make an impact as a scorer and rebounder hasn't gone unnoticed, as Tubelis is averaging 13.4 points and 6.0 boards per game over his last seven appearances.
Center
Kenneth Faried, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (10.7 credits)
Faried's price tag has increased with every passing round, but the veteran big man continues to deliver and take advantage of the opportunities he's had in Panathinaikos' frontcourt. He ranks second in FPT among centers over the last five Rounds with 86.90, only trailing Nikola Milutinov, who has been the third-best player overall with 110.80 FPT over that stretch. Faried is averaging 13.5 points and 7.5 boards per game this season, although there's a chance that the return of Omer Yurtseven might cut Faried's playing time.
Dan Oturu, Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv (12.0 credits)
Moving away from the high-priced options at center, Oturu could be a player worth targeting if your strategy is to carry elite options at the guard and forward roles. The big man of Hapoel Tel Aviv, one of the best teams in the league, ranks fifth among centers in FPT during the previous three Rounds with 50.10 FPT. He's averaging 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game over that stretch, although the scoring numbers are a bit inflated by his 20-point effort in Round 12 against Milan.
Head Coach
Dimitris Itoudis, Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv (8.7 credits)
Hapoel have been one of the best teams in the league this season and are co-leading the standings alongside Red Star and Panathinaikos with a 9-4 record. That's enough to trust Itoudis, who will look to lead the Israeli side to victory against ASVEL (3-10) in a favorable matchup on paper.
