2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hendrickson looked to be due for regression in 2024 after logging a career-high 17.5 sacks in 2023 - a number that far outpaced his underlying metrics such as quarterback hits. However, he instead repeated his 17.5 sack total and upped his quarterback hits to 36 and total quarterback pressures to a career-best mark of 83 in 2024. Those performances, combined with the explosion of the edge rusher market, have set the scene for a dramatic offseason. Hendrickson is entering the final season of his current contract and has stated he will not play in 2025 without a new deal, while the Bengals have yet to meet his demands. There's still time for the sides to find a resolution, but this is a situation to monitor as training camp nears. Read Past Outlooks
Reports to camp, not practicing
Hendrickson (contract dispute) is present at training camp Wednesday but will not take part in practice as he continues to seek a new deal with the Bengals, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hendrickson reporting for camp is at least a step in the positive direction, as per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network the intent is to turn his hold out into a hold-in, and to hopefully facilitate easier talks between his representatives and Cincinnati. A pair of AFC North pass rushers have already inked record-setting deals this offseason, Myles Garrett with the Browns and T.J. Watt with the Steelers, while Hendrickson is scheduled to make a $15.8 million base salary as he enters the final year of his current contract. Hendrickson will no longer be fined $50,000 per day and can be reinstated from the reserve/did-not-report list.

2021
Hendrickson had the best season of his career in 2023 by nearly any measure. That began with his ability to stay on the field, as he managed to play a full season for the first time since 2021. The result was a career-high 714 defensive snaps, 17.5 sacks and 43 total tackles. Hendrickson's calling card remains his ability as a pass rusher, and he's finished no worse than 11th in quarterback pressures in each of the last three years (per PFF). While he's unlikely to replicate his sack total from last season, his ability to get to the quarterback consistently illustrates his ability to disrupt offenses and rack up production. Hendrickson's limitations as a defender against the run will cut out some of his upside relative to the elite defensive lineman, but there will be a nearly guaranteed level of production for anyone rostering him.

Engaged but not practicing
Hendrickson, who ended his holdout Wednesday, didn't participate in any on-field work but was actively engaged while observing practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran pass rusher still says he doesn't plan on participating in practices until he's received his long sought-after contract extension, but as he demonstrated Wednesday, he's still trying to make a positive impact on his teammates. Baby reports Hendrickson, who also participated in team meetings, stood near the defensive line for most of practice, offering tips and encouragement to younger players and then observing from the sideline during team drills.
