Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cooks seems to be nearing the end of the line, joining his third team in the past four years after finishing with less than 700 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. He sank all the way to 259 yards in 10 games last year with the Cowboys, limited both by injuries and terrible per-target production (48.1 percent catch rate, 4.8 YPT). Cooks turns 32 in September and won't be ahead of Chris Olave or Rashid Shaheed on the depth chart in New Orleans, but there is an opportunity to earn playing time, especially if Olave's concussion issues resurface and/or Shaheed struggles to come back from knee surgery. Even if that happens, it's hard to imagine a post-prime version of Cooks putting up fantasy-relevant numbers in an offense that's a strong candidate to experience some of the worst QB play in the league. Cooks can probably consider it a success if he gets the 468 receiving yards needed to reach 10,000 for his career. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Grabs three passes Week 8
Cooks recorded three receptions (on four targets) for 22 yards during Sunday's 23-3 defeat to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Cooks logged more than 1.0 catch and 1.0 target for the first time since Week 4. The Saints' passing offense saw an uptick in passing attempts (51) despite benching starter Spencer Rattler for rookie Tyler Shough in the third quarter. Cooks logged one fewer target than second-year wideout Devaughn Vele, while both played supplementary roles behind top three pass-catchers Chris Olave (12), Rashid Shaheed (12) and tight end Juwan Johnson (8). Fantasy owners should expect a similar dispersal of targets during the Week 8 contest versus the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Cooks is coming off back-to-back seasons under 700 yards, following a seven-year stretch in which he topped 1,000 six times. He moved from a dreadful Houston offense in 2022 to a high-flying Dallas attack in 2023, and while his per-target efficiency unsurprisingly improved, Cooks drew only 5.1 targets per game in an offense that averaged 36.1 passes. CeeDee Lamb got 79 more targets (181) than second-place Jake Ferguson (102), who in turn had 21 more than Cooks (81). Eight of those 81 looks went for touchdowns, but yardage was consistently lacking apart from a 9-173-1 outburst Week 10 against the Giants (accounting for 26.3 percent of Cooks' yards for the season). The Cowboys haven't signed any veteran WRs this offseason and didn't draft one until Round 6 (Ryan Flournoy), likely leaving Cooks as the No. 2 receiver again and Jalen Tolbert as the favorite for the No. 3 job (after Michael Gallup was released). Cooks will turn 31 in September and doesn't seem especially likely to add big gains to last year's volume unless Lamb misses time with an injury.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might make history at deadline
Cooks is one of the Saints most likely to be moved at the trade deadline, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
If the veteran wide receiver does get dealt, it would set an NFL record by making Cooks the first player in league to get traded five times. He's currently tied with linebacker Kiko Alonso and Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson as the only players to get dealt four times. Cooks hasn't made much of an impact for a rebuilding New Orleans squad in 2025, catching 17 of 22 targets for 149 yards and zero touchdowns over eight games.
