2025 Fantasy Outlook
Strange is set to take over full-time as Jacksonville's top tight end following the offseason departure of Evan Engram, who signed with the Broncos. The 2023 second-round pick got an extended look in that role last season while Engram dealt with injuries, catching 29 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns on 39 targets in the eight games Engram missed. Overall, Strange had 411 receiving yards and two TDs in 2024, improving significantly on his 35-yard rookie season. He had at least 59 yards on four occasions but failed to exceed 25 in any other game. The inconsistency is unlikely to change much in 2025, with second overall pick Travis Hunter joining 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas in a talented young WR room that will demand the majority of QB Trevor Lawrence’s attention. Strange figures to spend a lot of time blocking or running simple check-down routes, as he isn't particularly fast (4.70 40) and never had more than 362 yards in a season during his four years at Penn State. Heads to IR with quad issue
The Jaguars placed Strange on injured reserve Tuesday due to a quadriceps injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Strange sustained what the Jaguars had previously labeled as a hip injury with just over four minutes remaining in the first half of Monday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs, resulting in his early exit from the contest. After undergoing further testing, Strange has now been diagnosed with a quad issue that will keep him out multiple games, though Garafolo relays that the Jaguars anticipate that the tight end has avoided a season-ending injury and will be able to return in around a month. Despite playing just 22 snaps in Monday's win, Strange leads the Jaguars with 20 catches through five games and has produced 204 receiving yards and no touchdowns. His absence should open up more opportunities at tight end for Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long.

Strange played in 14 games during his rookie campaign and primarily served as Jacksonville's No. 3 tight end. He caught five of nine targets for 35 yards and a touchdown. Evan Engram is locked in as the Jags' top tight end, but the No. 2 role should be up for grabs. Strange, who was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, will be competing with Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara for the role.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Breakout candidate for 2025 season
Strange holds down the tight end spot in Bucky Brooks of NFL.com's All-Breakout Team for 2025.
ANALYSIS
Strange had several productive performances during Evan Engram's injury-riddled 2024, and with the latter now in Denver, Brooks expects the former to fully come into his own as Trevor Lawrence's primary checkdown option. Given the expected vertical nature of Jacksonville's passing game and the fact defenses will have to account for Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown any time they're on field, Strange, who has impressive speed for a 250-pound-plus player, could find plenty of success in the middle of the field and down the seam.
