2022 Fantasy Outlook
Mundt will compete with Ben Ellefson, Nick Muse and Zach Davidson for the No. 2 tight end role. All four backups are seen as mostly blockers, so the Vikings would likely reduce the tight end's role in the passing game if starter Irv Smith were to miss regular season games. Still, it's worth watching Mundt's development in the preseason, as offensive coordinator Wes Phillips suggested Mundt has untapped potential as a pass catcher. Read Past Outlooks

Short-yardage receiver in 2022
Mundt caught 19 of 21 targets for 140 yards and a touchdown while playing in all 17 games during the 2022 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Mundt saw by far the most extensive playing time of his career after following Vikings first-year coach Kevin O'Connell to Minnesota this past offseason. The 28-year-old tight end also accumulated more receptions and receiving yards than he did over the first six seasons of his career with the Rams. Mundt still finished the season in a reserve role behind prolific receiving tight end T.J. Hockenson, who was acquired via trade from Detroit midway through the season. With 2019 second-round pick Irv Smith currently set to become a free agent this offseason, Mundt could be in line to serve as Minnesota's No. 2 tight end in 2023.

Jerry Donabedian takes a look back at some of 2022's standouts and gives his early 2023 fantasy rankings for tight ends.

Superstars did most of the heavy lifting for the wild-card winners, but there were also some lesser-known heroes like Isaiah Hodgins and Khalil Shakir.

James Cook got more snaps and carries than Devin Singletary even with the Bills playing their starters for the entire game Sunday.

Jerry Donabedian thinks the Saints are set at wide receiver for the next half decade with Rashid Shaheed joining Chris Olave to give them a pair of rookie standouts.
2021 Fantasy Outlook
This will be Mundt's fifth season with the Rams after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. While he's caught just nine passes through his first four years with the team, Mundt suited up for all 16 games in 2020 and could see an increased role with the departure of Gerald Everett to Seattle via free agency. Still, Mundt's likely to be deployed primarily as a blocker, so it's probably best to take a wait-and-see approach in all fantasy settings.
