Darrisaw has been sidelined for each of the team's first two games this season while he's continued to recover from a torn ACL and MCL that he suffered in October of 2024. The 26-year-old's ability to log a full practice Wednesday is a major step in his recovery, and it's possible that Darrisaw could return to action Sunday in Cincinnati. Darrisaw and the Vikings seem likely to agree to a contract extension, but it may not happen until next offseason, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The left tackle will be playing on his rookie deal through 2025 after having his fifth-year option picked up in April, but both sides are interested in having Darrisaw remain in Minnesota for the long haul. The 23rd overall pick in the 2021 Draft also now has Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, and Rosenhaus has an excellent relationship with the Vikings' front office. With no incentive to get a deal done quickly, however, the team will likely make extending Darrisaw a priority after the 2024 campaign.
