Inks future deal with Denver
The Broncos signed Schrader to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A future deal means Schrader will be on Denver's 90-man roster at the start of the offseason, which will allow him to participate in OTAs and minicamp. He was cut by the Rams at the end of traiing camp in late August and had stints with the Jaguars and Texans before catching on with the Broncos in December.

A coach's dream, Schrader gives maximum effort at all times, but his general lack of athleticism caused him to go undrafted out of Missouri in 2024. The 49ers are the best possible landing spot for any running back, and if Schrader's strong pass-protection skills and ability to squeeze every yard out of a run earn him a roster spot, he could be the latest backfield success story for Kyle Shanahan. San Francisco's depth chart has more impressive specimens though, from Christian McCaffrey to 2024 fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo, so Schader has his work cut out for him.

Day 3 prospect per Brugler
Schrader will likely be a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick, per the comprehensive 2024 NFL Draft Guide compiled by Dane Brugler of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Schrader led the SEC in rushing with 1,627 yards at Missouri in 2023, and he added 14 touchdowns, showing he can thrive against tougher competition after starting his college career at Division II Truman State. His time at Truman State included a dominant 2,074-yard, 25-touchdown season on the ground in 2021. Schrader doesn't possess remarkable size or athleticism, as the 5-foot-8 running back ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine while weighing in at 202 pounds.
