Dyami Brown

24-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Washington Commanders
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Brown is entering his third year with the Commanders. Aside from running a 4.46 40-yard dash, Brown's agility and explosiveness tested slightly below average. At 6-0, 195 pounds, Brown may benefit if settling into a role in the slot. However, with less than 170 yards and 13 receptions in each of his three seasons, it would appear unlikely that Brown is in line for a breakout season. He does have a path to snaps, or at least a part-time role, as the Commanders traded Jahan Dotson in August and sorely lack WR talent beyond Terry McLaurin. Read Past Outlooks

Targeted four times in Week 2
WRWashington Commanders
September 17, 2024
Brown secured two of his four targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Brown saw his offensive snap percentage increase in Week 2, playing 69 percent of snaps against the Giants after playing 55 percent of snaps in Week 1. The fourth-year wideout's four targets were also an improvement after he didn't see a single target in the Commanders' debut. Brown has the potential to develop into a key player in Washington's passing attack, as fellow receivers Luke McCaffrey, Olamide Zaccheaus and Noah Brown don't present much of a road block to increased involvement. The 24-year-old will look to take the next step to establish his role in the offense when the Commanders visit the Bengals in Week 3.

2021
A 2021 third-round pick, Brown has drawn only 39 targets in 30 career games, mostly serving as Washington's fourth or fifth receiver. He averaged 18.7 yards per catch at UNC and ran a 4.46 40 coming out of college, albeit at only 189 pounds. Brown isn't in the mix for a top-3 role this offseason, instead competing with a group that includes Marcus Kemp and Dax Milne for depth spots behind the lead trio of Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel.
Brown, the 82nd overall pick in the 2021 Draft, had a quiet rookie season, despite getting some chances to play. The Commanders' poor depth at wide receiver allowed him to make six starts in 15 games, but he finished the year with only 12 catches and no touchdowns, limited by his own struggles as well as the team's poor quarterback play. Brown now profiles as a depth player after Washington drafted WR Jahan Datson in the first round, but there's an opening if the rookie struggles or Curtis Samuel again is unable to stay healthy.
Brown had second-round buzz coming out of North Carolina, backing up consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with a 4.46 40-yard dash at his pro day. His speed isn't exactly a secret, yet he lasted until late in the third round of the 2021 Draft, eventually going 82nd overall to Washington. The rookie seems most likely to open his career somewhere between fourth and sixth on the wideout depth chart, but he might instead push Adam Humphries for the No. 3 role, which in turn could mean more slot snaps for Terry McLaurin and/or Curtis Samuel. Either way, it's McLaurin and Samuel who figure to see most of the targets, while Brown will need time to develop beyond his current skill set as a big-play guy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Moves up on depth chart
WRWashington Commanders
August 22, 2024
Brown could emerge as the No. 2 wide receiver on the Commanders' depth chart following the trade of Jahan Dotson to the Eagles on Thursday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
For the moment, Brown finds himself in a position to claim a spot on the depth chart that would have seemed highly improbable as recently as the end of the 2023 regular season. The 2021 third-round pick has played in 47 of a possible 51 regular-season games since entering the NFL, but all he has to show for it is a modest 29-476-3 receiving line and 11 rushing yards on three carries. However, it seems all but certain Brown is about to walk into the heaviest workload of his career -- he's topped out at 278 snaps from scrimmage back in his rookie campaign -- following Dotson's exit.
