Moving to New England
Gibbens (ankle) agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Minnesota product spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Titans, appearing in 29 games and recording 167 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He missed Tennessee's final seven games in 2024 due to an ankle injury, but he's seemingly moved past the issue. Now in New England, he's expected to compete for a depth role in the linebacker corps while also contributing on special teams.

Recent RotoWire Articles Featuring Jack Gibbens See More

Juan Carlos Blanco breaks down the latest on the Week 12 injury landscape as of Sunday morning, including news on the 49ers' Brock Purdy.

Dan's IDP picks include Malik Harrison, who served as Roquan Smith's replacement after a Week 11 fourth-quarter injury to Smith, and the role could carry over to future games, upping Harrison's tackle chances.

Dan Marcus' Week 9 review includes Jack Gibbens, who looked to be the short-term beneficiary of Ernest Jones being dealt to Seattle by recording eight tackles.
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gibbens put together the beginnings of a breakout campaign in 2023, but he missed the final three contests with a back injury. This season, he's set up to work alongside Kenneth Murray at inside linebacker. The team's swap of Azeez Al-Shaair should have a positive impact on Gibbens' playing time, as he's now the superior option in coverage amongst the team's linebackers, which in turn should give him the opportunity to stay on the field for all three downs. That will be a role that plays out more formally during training camp, but Gibbens should be in the position to rack up a ton of tackles in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Won't be retained by Tennessee
The Titans are not expected to tender Gibbens a contract before the new league year begins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Gibbens has been a key part of the team's linebacking corps for the last three seasons, though his 2024 campaign ended prematurely due to an ankle injury. The Titans added Cody Barton as a free agent and also have other key contributors such as Kenneth Murray and Jerome Baker still on the roster, thus leaving Gibbens expendable. Gibbens should land elsewhere, though he may have to take on a more limited role.
