2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hicks began his rookie campaign in a reserve role but earned rotational snaps on defense by mid-season, crossing the 50-percent snap threshold for the first time Week 15 and looked genuinely impressive as a starter during the playoffs. In his seven appearances playing more than half of defensive snaps, including three postseason appearances, Hicks tallied 27 tackles (20 solo) and four pass breakups, including two INTs. The Chiefs selected Hicks in the fourth round of April's NFL Draft, and he was considered by many to be a steal at that slot as one of the better safeties in the class. The 22-year-old is slated to begin the 2024 campaign in a depth role behind starting safeties Justin Reid and Bryan Cook. Hicks got the chance to work with the first-team defense in training camp while Reid was out with a quad injury, suggesting that the rookie could be asked to step up if either Reid or Cook ends up sidelined at any point.
