2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hunter's build is somewhat small at 5-foot-9, 204 pounds, but the fourth-round pick out of Auburn still runs with more power than most running backs and his 4.44 speed propels Hunter to big-play ability that most running backs lack. Kyren Williams is locked in as a three-down workhorse and 2024 third-round pick Blake Corum might have untapped ability yet, but Corum is unproven and Williams has had both injury and ball security issues in the past. Hunter's motor paired with his speed makes him capable of big plays even on small workloads, so it might not be easy for the Rams to put Hunter back on the shelf if he breaks big plays off the bench. Hunter finished his Auburn career with 3,371 yards (6.3 YPC) and 25 touchdowns on 539 carries, adding 68 receptions for 558 yards and four touchdowns. He probably needs to improve in blitz pickup and catching passes if he's ever going to feature into the game plan as a receiver, but if Hunter can provide easy yardage and big-play ability as a rushing specialist there still might be some role for him in the Rams offense. RANKS
Added to Rams backfield
The Rams selected Hunter in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 117th overall.
ANALYSIS
Hunter began his first two seasons at Auburn as the backup to Tank Bigsby before claiming the lead role in 2023, rushing for 2,110 yards and 15 touchdowns on 346 carries over his final two seasons with the Tigers. Coming from a weightlifting background, Hunter doesn't lack for strength, and he projects as a downhill runner who can be difficult to bring down when he gets rolling. He joins an already young backfield that sports recent draft picks at the top of the depth chart with Kyren Williams (2022) as the starter and Blake Corum (2024) as the top backup. Hunter will likely fit in alongside Corum vying for reserve snaps behind Williams.

ANALYSIS
Hunter led the SEC with 6.4 yards per carry in 2024 while rushing for 1,201 yards and eight touchdowns at Auburn. He scored at least seven rushing touchdowns in each of his last three college seasons. If he lands in Indianapolis, Hunter would compete with Khalil Herbert and Tyler Goodson for a complementary role behind workhorse Jonathan Taylor.
