Kalel Mullings

22-Year-Old Running BackRB
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mullings mostly played linebacker for three years at Michigan before transitioning to running back full-time in 2023. He was merely the third-string RB during Michigan's national championship season, but Mullings then leapfrogged Donovan Edwards to take over the lead role in 2024 after Blake Corum left for the NFL. Mullings responded with a 185-948-12 rushing line, averaging 5.1 YPC and catching just six passes in 12 games. It was a workmanlike showing rather than an explosive one, but the Titans deemed him worth of a sixth-round pick this spring, giving Mullings the chance to compete for a No. 3 RB job behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. Mullings recorded eight carries for 25 yards in Friday's 23-20 preseason win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears (ankle) sat, so Mullings looked to be splitting the primary role with Julius Chestnut. Chestnut got the opening carry of the game, but Mullings followed immediately after on the same drive. However, he was called for a holding penalty one play later and then didn't receive a carry for two additional possessions. Mullings' usage suggests he currently sits fourth on the running back depth chart.

Chance to begin season as RB2
RBTennessee Titans
August 14, 2025
Mullings has a chance to earn a role on offense out of the gate following Tyjae Spears' high-ankle sprain, per Eric Edholm of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
If Spears isn't ready to play Week 1, Mullings or Julius Chestnut would be the top candidates for change-of-pace work behind starter Tony Pollard. Edholm believes Mullings, whom the Titans selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, can bolster his claim for regular-season carries with a strong performance in Tennessee's second preseason game against the Falcons.
