2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Bears now have six playmakers that were top-50 draft picks, adding TE Colston Loveland at No. 10 overall and Burden at No. 39 to round out an offense that also includes WR DJ Moore, WR Rome Odunze, TE Cole Kmet and RB D'Andre Swift. Burden's first challenge will be to earn the No. 3 WR job this summer, likely competing against free-agent signing Olamide Zaccheaus. Burden is one of the younger players from his draft class, turning 22 in December, and had a prolific career at Missouri with 2,263 receiving yards, 234 rushing yards and 25 total TDs over three seasons. He was far more productive in 2023 than in 2024, but his draft stock rebounded some after a 4.41 40 at the combine, where he checked in at 6-foot, 206. Burden's dense frame and strong work after the catch have evoked comparisons to his new teammate, Moore, who signed a four-year extension last summer. Chicago isn't the best landing spot to get big-time volume right away, but it could work out well eventually if new coach Ben Johnson helps Caleb Williams recover from an ugly rookie season. Earns six targets
Burden recorded four receptions on six targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Packers. He added one rush for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Burden led the Bears in targets and yards with Rome Odunze (foot) sidelined, while DJ Moore remained uninvolved. Burden was primarily targeted in short areas of the field, though he did get behind the Packers' defense for a 27-yard gain late in the fourth quarter as the Bears attempted to rally to tie the game. Burden's involvement in Chicago's offense has steadily crept up in recent weeks, as he now has at least five targets in four straight contests. He set his highest yardage total in that span with his performance Sunday, though Burden could continue to emerge in the final handful of remaining weeks of the regular season.

Pushing for expanded role
Burden is pushing to take over the slot role in Chicago, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Burden got more involved in the Chicago offense in Week 10, highlighted by a 50 percent offensive snap rate that was nearly double his previous high. He responded with a long reception of 27 yards, and five of his 16 catches on the season have now gone for 20 or more yards. Bair notes that Olamide Zaccheaus has strong rapport with Caleb Williams, which could keep him in a substantial role for at least a couple more weeks. However, Week 10 looks to be the start of a potential role increase across the second half of the season for Burden, a second-round pick in the 2025 Draft.
