2023 Fantasy Outlook
A 2022 fourth-round pick, Strong didn't get many opportunities last year in New England, finishing the season with 10 carries for 100 yards. But one of those rushes showed his trademark speed as he ripped off a 44-yard burst Week 14 against the Cardinals. Strong (5-11, 207) is a bit skinny for his height, which means his excellent athletic testing (4.37 40, 36-inch vertical, 124-inch broad jump) comes with the slight asterisk. The Patriots traded him to Cleveland in August a couple weeks after signing Ezekiel Elliott, giving Strong a new opportunity to carve out a role in a backfield with minimal experience behind the starter. It looks like only fellow 2022 draft pick Jerome Ford, a fifth-rounder, stands between Strong and the second spot on Cleveland's depth chart. Read Past Outlooks

Back
January 17, 2024
Strong (back) had 63 carries for 291 yards and one touchdown to go with five catches for 47 yards on eight targets while appearing in all 17 regular-season games.
ANALYSIS
Strong spent his rookie season with the Patriots in 2022 but was traded to the Browns in August. Nick Chubb's season-ending knee injury opened up an opportunity, but the Browns promoted Jerome Ford to the top of the depth chart and re-signed Kareem Hunt, leaving Strong in a little-used third-string role. Chubb is expected to be recovered by the start of the 2024 season, and Ford remains on hand as well, so Strong's usage isn't projected to increase moving forward. On a positive note, the back injury that kept Strong from playing in the team's wild-card round loss to Houston last weekend isn't expected to affect his availability moving forward.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be Cleveland's healthiest RB
RBCleveland Browns
October 25, 2023
Strong is the Browns' healthiest running back heading into Sunday's game against the Seahawks, as neither Jerome Ford nor Kareem Hunt practiced Wednesday due to ankle and thigh injuries, respectively, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ford suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 7 win over the Colts and is likely to miss Sunday's game in Seattle. Hunt played through the thigh injury against the Colts and will likely be available this Sunday, but Strong should take on a larger role even if Hunt suits up this weekend. Strong handled a season-high eight carries after Ford's early exit last week.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Despite his name, speed is the name of Strong's game, not power. The fourth-round pick out of South Dakota State opened eyes with a 4.37 40-yard dash at the 2022 Combine, the fastest time of any running back in this year's draft class. He showed good vision and elusiveness in college, albeit not against top-level competition, and his 10 career touchdowns of 50 or more yards show the speed translates in pads. While Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson are slated to share early down duties in the Patriots' backfield, the retirement of James White could offer Strong a path to a change-of-pace role in the team's offense if he impresses during the preseason.
