This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.
If you don't want your Friday the 13th to be terrifying, considering these players for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are my recommendations for Friday's three games.
GOALIE
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK vs. LOS ($8,900): Fleury posted a shutout in the first game of this series, which is impressive. That came after he had a 2.24 GAA and .927 save percentage during the regular season. Vegas was a strong team at home this year, and it had a 2.49 GAA and allowed 29.9 shots on net per contest in such games.
CENTER
Sean Couturier, PHI at PIT ($6,600): Couturier notched five points in his last three regular-season games, and he has 13 points in his last 14 contests. As bad as that series opener was for the Flyers, the fact remains that the 25-year-old scored 31 goals and added 45 assists this year. On top of that, the Penguins had a 3.02 GAA, the highest of any playoff team.
Paul Stastny, WPG vs. MIN ($5,200): Stastny didn't light the world on fire after being traded to the Jets, but he had 13 points in 19 games, which is solid. Plus, he's played a little better recently, as he has four points in his last six contests. The Wild had a 3.41 GAA on the road, which was bottom five in the NHL.
WING
Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs. PHI ($6,500): Including the playoffs, Hornqvist has an eight-game point streak. He's also been on fire when it comes to putting pucks on net, as he's registered 73 shots on goal in his last 16 games. Brian Elliott, who had a .909 save percentage, obviously struggled mightily in Game 1. It's only one game, but any time a team allows seven goals and has to face the same team again on the road it's worth noting.
Jake Guentzel, PIT vs. PHI ($5,600): If anybody took advantage of Philly's struggles in Game 1, it was Guentzel. He picked up a goal and three assists, and for that he can thank playing alongside Sidney Crosby. The 23-year-old's goal came on the power play, and he notched 12 points with the extra man during the season. That kind of success could continue, as the Flyers had the 29th-ranked penalty kill.
Kyle Connor, WPG vs. MIN ($5,300): Connor has 16 points in his last 13 regular-season games, and though he didn't notch a point in Game 1 he did play 20:09 and put three shots on net. He's also started 54.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, third highest on the Jets. As previously noted, Minnesota had a 3.41 GAA in away games.
DEFENSEMEN
Ivan Provorov, PHI at PIT ($5,500): Provorov notched 17 goals on 203 shots this year, and he also blocked 169 shots. He didn't get on the scoresheet in Game 1, but he did put four shots on net. Over his last three contests, he's registered 11 shots on goal. Meanwhile, Penguins started Matt Murray had a 2.92 GAA and a .907 save percentage. He's not going to have a shutout every night.
Justin Schultz, PIT vs. PHI ($5,000): Schultz has a three-game point streak and five points in his last five contests. He's also seen a major uptick in his power-play minutes recently, as he's averaged 3:29 per game with the extra man. As previously noted, Philadelphia had the 29th-ranked penalty kill. The Flyers also had a .904 save percentage, but that includes the injured Michal Neuvirth and his .915 save percentage.
