This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.
Monday may be the NHL trade deadline, but don't forget that there are actual, y'know, games taking place. In fact, there are six games on the slate, and here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.
GOALIE
Jacob Markstrom, VAN vs. ANA ($8,500): Markstrom has been impressive in net recently, as he has a 2.63 GAA and .915 save percentage over his last 15 starts. Of course, regardless of the Swede's play, this is a great matchup. The Ducks have averaged 2.19 goals and 27.6 shots on net per game, both lowest in the NHL.
CENTER
Max Domi, MON at NJD ($5,900): Domi has a four-game point streak in which he has tallied five points and 14 shots on goal. That's not a fluke either, as the former Coyote has 54 points in 62 games. Now he gets to face a Devils team with a 3.39 GAA, third highest in the league.
Carl Soderberg, COL vs. FLA ($4,700): The Avalanche have switched things up a bit recently, which has led Soderberg to playing time with Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog as his wings. Perhaps not coincidentally, the Swedish pivot has at least two points in each of his last three games. As for the Panthers, they have a 3.82 GAA on the road.
WING
Filip Forsberg, NAS vs. EDM ($7,400): Forsberg has 21 goals this season, which is impressive given that he's only played in 47 games. He seems primed to score 26 goals for the fifth straight season. The Oilers have struggled defensively in February, as they have a 3.45 GAA and .890 save percentage. They also have the 29th-ranked penalty kill, and Forsberg has averaged 3:24 per game with the extra man.
Frank Vatrano, FLA at COL ($4,700): Vatrano has had a surprise breakout year, including seven goals and 13 points in his last 15 games. This kind of play has helped him grab a spot on Florida's top line. Meanwhile, the Avalanche have a 3.15 GAA, which is bottom 10 in the NHL.
Paul Byron, MON at NJD ($4,500): Since returning from injury, Byron has a point in three straight games. He's been in and out of the lineup recently, but in the last seven games he's played he's tallied seven points. As previously noted, the Devils have a 3.39 GAA, and a 3.42 GAA in February.
DEFENSE
Roman Josi, NAS vs. EDM ($6,800): Josi probably doesn't want February to ever end. In 12 games this month he has six goals and nine assists. He's also put 217 shots on net this season, to go with 101 blocks. The recent weeks have not been as kind to Edmonton's Mikko Koskinen. The Finnish goalie has a 3.19 GAA and .889 save percentage in his last 11 outings.
Mikhail Sergachev, TAM vs. LOS ($3,800): Sergachev has started 53.3 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most among Lightning defensemen. As for the Kings, they have a 3.55 GAA in February. They also have the 30th-ranked penalty kill, and Sergachev is the only Tampa defenseman other than Victor Hedman who sees any real power-play time.
