The NHL returned to action from the break with two games Monday, and yet somehow there are two teams stuck playing on the second night of a back-to-back. There are three games total Tuesday, and here are the players I recommend for your daily fantasy lineup.
GOALIE
Henrik Lundqvist, NYR vs. PHI ($7,600): Lundqvist hasn't had a great season, even if he was an All-Star, but the Rangers' issues have largely been on the road. At home, they have a 2.67 GAA. Plus, the Flyers, who have only scored 2.85 goals per game, are on the road for the second day of a back-to-back.
CENTER
Mika Zibanejad, NYR vs. PHI ($6,800): Zibanejad was hot before the All-Star break, notching nine points in five games before getting his respite. He's also tallied 16 points with the extra man. That could come into play here, as the Flyers have the 28th-ranked penalty kill.
David Krejci, BOS vs. WPG ($5,500): We're used to Krejci's passing skills, but thanks to three goals in his last six games he has 10 on the season to go with his 30 helpers. The Jets are another team that is on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and Connor Hellebuyck will be starting this one. While Hellebuyck was great last season, he has a 2.85 GAA and .910 save percentage this year.
WING
Sam Reinhart, BUF at CLM ($6,200): Reinhart may play on a line with Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner, but he's not merely riding their coattails. The second-overall pick from 2014 has 44 points in 48 contests. Meanwhile, Sergei Bobrovsky has been struggling recently, as he has a 3.84 GAA and .864 save percentage over his last seven outings.
James van Riemsdyk, PHI at NYR ($6,000): Van Riemsdyk has started 54.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Philadelphia forwards. Though he missed the start of the season, he now has 13 goals and 23 points in 33 games. I recommended Henrik Lundqvist due to the overall weakness of Philly's offense, and due to the fact it is on the second night of a back-to-back, but King Henrik hasn't been good enough to expect a shutout, so JVR could get his.
Filip Chytil, NYR vs. PHI ($4,200): Chytil seemed to finally start finding his footing before the All-Star break, as he has a point in five of his last six contests. Anthony Stolarz will be getting his first start in a while for the Flyers on Tuesday. He's struggled mightily in limited action, as he has a 3.90 GAA and .880 save percentage in nine outings.
DEFENSE
Torey Krug, BOS vs. WPG ($6,200): Krug is racking up the points, as he has 32 in 38 contests, including 19 with the extra man. The Jets have been solid on the penalty kill this season, but on the road for the second game of a back-to-back they likely won't be at the top of their game. Additionally, over his last 14 games Connor Hellebuyck has a 2.93 GAA and .909 save percentage.
Kevin Shattenkirk, NYR vs. PHI ($4,500): Shattenkirk started to pick up his play after returning from injury, as he has six points in his last 11 contests. He's also averaged 2:13 with the extra man in that time. The Flyers have the 28th-ranked penalty kill, and will be starting Anthony Stolarz on the second night of a back-to-back. That all bodes well for Shattenkirk.
