This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.
We are barreling down on the trade deadline, but don't forget about the games on the ice. There are four contests on the NHL docket Wednesday, and here are my daily fantasy lineup recommendations.
GOALIE
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK vs. BOS ($7,900): You probably know by now that the Golden Knights are a different team at home. They have a 2.41 GAA in their home arena. Meanwhile, the Bruins struggle offensively on the road. They've only scored 2.48 goals per game outside of Boston.
CENTER
Dylan Larkin, DET vs. CHI ($7,000): Larkin has already set personal bests in goals (24) and shots on net (224), despite having only played in 59 games. This is a great opportunity for him to add to those totals. After a crazy scoring fest with the Senators, the Blackhawks have a 3.70 GAA, and they've given up 35.4 shots on net per contest.
Brock Nelson, NYI at CGY ($5,400):Mathew Barzal gets all the attention, but it's actually Nelson who centers the Islanders' top line. He isn't a slouch by any means, as the 27-year-old has 18 goals and 37 points in 58 games. Weirdly, the Flames have been worse at home than on the road defensively. They have a 3.29 GAA at home, fourth highest in the NHL.
WING
Blake Wheeler, WPG at COL ($7,500): Wheeler may only have 12 goals, but who cares when you have 56 assists? Besides, his 7.1 shooting percentage is the worst of his career, so some regression could arrive at some point. After having a 3.90 GAA in January, the Avalanche have a 3.33 GAA in nine games in February. They also have the 26th-ranked penalty kill, and Wheeler has 22 power-play points.
Dominik Kahun, CHI at DET ($4,400): Quietly, Chicago's second line of Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat, and Kahun has been a force recently. Kahun has 30 points on the season, but in his last eight games he's tallied 10 points. As for the Red Wings, they have a 3.23 GAA and have allowed 32.8 shots on net per contest, both bottom 10 in the NHL.
Thomas Vanek, DET vs. CHI ($4,200): Speaking of the trade deadline, Vanek is a frequently-dealt player. His recent play could help garner interest, as he has 12 points in his last 14 games. The Austrian has also averaged 2:38 per contest, and in addition to their 3.70 GAA, the Blackhawks have the league's worst penalty kill.
DEFENSE
Erik Gustafsson, CHI at DET ($5,500): After years of Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook running the show, it's actually Gustafsson who is the top scorer for the Blackhawks from the blue line. The 26-year-old has 12 goals and 38 points through 57 games, including 13 points with the extra man. As previously noted, the Wings have a 3.23 GAA, but they also have the 24th-ranked penalty kill.
Ryan Pulock, NYI at CGY ($4,400): Pulock has averaged a robust 22:15 per game in ice time, a major uptick for him. He's notched 27 points in that time, including eight in his last eight games. That includes three power-play points as well, and the Flames have the 23rd-ranked penalty kill. At home, though, that penalty kill ranks 28th.
